    anybody running a 4" dp?

so I started the car this weekend and drove it down the road with the 4" open DP. Is it loud? Yes, but not as loud as I was expecting. It kinda sounds like a mix between a jet engine and a tractor. Then again, my timing is off, so who knows what the final result will be. Looks like I'm going...

hks wastegate-what happens if you use the top nipple?

also, since I'm sure someone is going to mention it, I do have the flange thing for the wastegate (piece that goes between the mounting surface of the wastegate and the flange on the manifold), so that couldn't be the problem...

hks wastegate-what happens if you use the top nipple?

It's the four-bolt, 38mm I think, but I'm not positive, I've had it for a while. and suprarich, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I have an hks evc, but I do not want to use it yet, as my wastegate has a 9lb. spring, which should be plenty for the time being, plus I need to tune it and...

    Innovate wideband install

in the directions it says that you can mount it in the engine bay. Mine is in the elbow portion of my DP, so I still had enough wire to run it through the firewall.

hks wastegate-what happens if you use the top nipple?

see, that's what I thought. ...Then I wonder why it's not boosting. Hmmm. -Devon Goodspeed

hks wastegate-what happens if you use the top nipple?

I just finished up installing my turbo stuff, and I'm fairly confident that we hooked up the wastegate to the wrong nipple. Being about 40 miles away from the car, I can't exactly go and check, but the boost gauge reads about 5 lbs (the turbo is a gt4088) at most if floored, which isn't right...

how do i hook up my mbc?

yeah, it's not that complicated. Starts out as a 5inch long piece of hose that runs (as previously mentioned) from the only vacuum/boost nipple on the turbo to the wastegate. Hope you have an aftermarket boost gauge, though. Otherwise you'll probably end up breaking something by having no idea...

anybody ever had vband sizing problems?

see, that's retarded. I mean, of course there would be a lip, and all vband lips are the same size, so the manufacturer would have to account for said lip.

anybody ever had vband sizing problems?

So long story short, when retightening my vband, one of the guys helping me broke the bolt in it. No big deal, so I order another one. It comes, and we try to install it, but I can almost fit it INSIDE my 3" outlet, which is obviously a bit of a problem. I email the guy and he said that the...

is it safe to say my turbos dead?

lol, otherwise, mine wouldn't be leaking into my exhaust... ...damn it. Maybe I'll get it rebuilt into a gt40R. *evil laugh*

Best software / placement for Lc-1

I have the lc1 and IIRC it doesn't say anything in the manual about mounting distance. It does say, however, not to mount it in the 6 o'clock position because condensation will ruin the sensor. Mine is almost in the stock location (I have it run into my ecu, so I only have one sensor), but I...

    anybody running a 4" dp?

I think I'm going to look into running it to the end of the car with a resonator and a muffler on it. We'll see.

so, what you're saying is that I'm probably going to be screwed, muffler or not.

    anybody running a 4" dp?

well, my main reasoning behind 4" is because I needed a few bends in 3" to do my exhaust that I didn't have, and just happened to have a 4" downpipe from a diesel truck upgrade in my shop... ...A side note, 4" exhaust and an ssac manfold do not like to play nicely together. I have about a cm...

    anybody running a 4" dp?

yeah, that's what I was worried about. Do you think that muffler would help any? See, due to space restraints (and the fact that I don't want to bottom out every 6 inches) I was just going to run the downpipe with the muffler directly after it (parallel to the driveshaft) accompanied by a...
