    Emilio's NewRedSupra

I think I'm going to create a new thread for the car, post swap. So a quick rundown on the swap... I used a 1JZ-GTE VVTi from a Toyota Chaser, 1997-2001, chassis code "JZX100". The 1JZ-GTE VVTi was found in several vehicles, but namely late Toyota Soarers (98-00), and a large number of "X"...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Dan, if you're looking to get a fan shroud, I might have a good solution for you regarding clearance. I discovered that the 1JZ-GTE VVTi engine has a different fan should that should be compatible with JZ engines, and mates perfectly to a 7M fan and clutch. We should try the same solution on...

    Basic upgrade list

I'd skip the Walbro fuel pump, and get something a bit nicer, like an Aeromotive Stealth 340 or similar.

Best clutch fan combo for 1JZ swapped Supra's?

I don't have any pictures, but I've found what seems to be the perfect JZ fan setup. 1JZ-GTE VVTi Water Pump 7M-GTE Fan Clutch 7M-GTE Fan Blade Everything bolts together, everything fits perfectly, and clearance is good. The tough part is finding a 1JZ-GTE VVTi water pump. :)

    JZA70 AC Condenser

This would be the primary difference. The pipes to the evaporator go to the passenger side, left vs. right hand drive.

    Emilio's NewRedSupra

I probably should! I've been crazy busy recently, hopefully I cobble something together soon to present the car in its current condition. And feel free to keep driving it! I really should go get the car out of your hair...I kinda miss it, haha I did! The swap is working and has ~150 miles on...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Stock Shifter > * imho. And if anyone is genuinely concerned about having the best shifter feel...an R154 is not the transmission to have. :)

A lot has changed since I've been involved with the Supra community.

This is spot on if you ask me. AW11 (84-89) MR2s went through the transition from "sports car" to "classic car" over the last few years. With the exception of some autocross machines, they're now almost universally accepted as what they were from the factory, and appreciated for how they drive...

What do you have left? I might go collect that green box if you want :D

A lot has changed since I've been involved with the Supra community.

Facebook has largely replaced my involvement on the forums as well, but primarily because it's much easier to participate in the local Supra community there. I tried and tried to gather up Minnesota Supra owners on the forums here for ages, but with very little luck. I start a Minnesota Supra...

    OBD2 Swap?

No. It would be all custom and not worth the effort at all.

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

I wouldn't be surprised. The rears were $17/each marked down from ~$60. Probably just clearing out their inventory...

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

I got mine from TireRack. The rears were on clearance.

    What is/are your 2014 Supra goal(s)?

2014 Goals? Red Car: Get my 1JZ-GTE VVTi Swap Running by May, Track Ready by July (for PowerCruise) Blue Car: Sell it. (This is proving to be harder than expected.)

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

I have/had OEM Rotors + AutoZone generic/crap pads. Took the car out for a full day of AutoX, and they performed just fine, I was able to set off the ABS at will if I so desired. THEN, I took the car to Brainerd International Raceway for PowerCruise. After 1 1/2 laps of the track (which...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Back when I was CPS shopping for my 7M (mine had terrible wiring), I looked high and low for what options there were for CPS rebuilds and the like. Most of the major auto parts stores offer some sort of new one in the $500-$700 range, like this...

What are you guys missing in parts/service/manufacturing support for the MK3 Chassis?

I like the suggestion of a pre-89 lip that isn't totally gawdy (like the only ShineAuto one that is available)
