its not the lube used that affects the tourque spec its the metal that the bolt is made out of, bolts are tourqued to 70% of the elastic limit, the bolt is actually stretched to increase the clamping force, with a stonger metal the elastic limit is much higher and therefore to get the same...
u can get the ebay manifold although the quality is questionable or u can get an adapter made at any exhaust shop, as far as choosing the right turbo you have to look at the compressor map to see which turbo is best suited for your application
the word supra automatically attracts anyone under the age of about 30 so campus fliers wouldnt hurt, also as mentioned before just dri8ving around u might find a pontential buyer again because its a supra and its nice like that
mass air flow translator, usually the pro edition its one of the most comprehensive piggy back tuners for our cars on hte market the website is www.maftpro.com
i'm just starting to build my car for drag racing and was wondering if anyone here has ever done a solid rear axle in a drag car, i'm pretty sure slow66 did at some point and i'm sure there are others but to anyone that has done it is there a rear that works particularly well in our cars also...
ok heres the deal, i have an 89 supra with no motor but it does have all the wiring still in it and i have an 87 motor that has connectors but the harness was cut at the fire wall when it was removed and i wanted to know if i could run my 87 motor w/ my 89 harness/ECU, also the shifter appears...
that cars not too bad, i mean its an abomination as it sits but remove the wing and paint it black+a turbo swap and you would have yourself a very nice car, the rims look good on it and how can u not love that grand national inspired interior
reliablility might not be an issue at all, the only real determining factor is how well the swap is done and what condition the engine is in, i've heard of some pretty bad japanese motors, never had one myself though. if you really want to know that its gonna be rreliable jut build the 7M and...
gotta love toyota, they dropped the supra and came out with that roxy POS and then started another branch that revovles around a miniature box van w/ windows
i love this huge lack of real factual information regarding remote mount systems, lets just clear up a few things specifically regarding actual STS kits, first they still do require a BOV they also come with intercoolers which arent necessary but add quite a bit of power, as for oil they have...
haha i like that response especilly considering that heating the block in afurnc=ace would be a huge waste of time due to the fact that it would all warp as soon as it cooled and have to be decked again
why dont u just get a TSRM and read all about how to tear down and rebuild the engine properly, also if your unsure about bearing clearances etc. talk to a machinest, i kno many people who think they know what they're doing and improperly rebuild an engine only to have it seaze up 3,000 miles later
i'm very interested in how the HPF bronze clutch will hold and wether or not it will weld to a stock flywheel b/c i've been hearing alot of bad things about the hpf clutches but a clutch that holds 600hp and is rebuildable for 125 is almost irresistable
a little too much oil+excessive heat and there u have it oil everywhereif u had just broken it in it would have been fine because you werent beating on it
