theres two problems with that engine though.... one is the full rebuild you'd have to do. and second is figure out WHY there was low oil pressure... it was probably the oil pump, and those arent cheap...

if you want just some quick HP, run it open downpipe(disconnect the cat) and shim the waste gate with two washers. you shim it by placing the two washers between the turbo and the wastegate flange... if it doesnt make sense i'll go take some pictures for you... anything over stock will...

check your timing. your car sounds JUST like my n/a after i did my timing belt, make sure its set to 10BTDC or whatever its suppose to be... because my car wouldnt go past 3,000 either... hahaha

i would do a tune up... spark plugs, change the oil, flush the coolant, change the air filter, just regular shit like that... and then start to check for bigger problems. could also do a compression test to see if everything is "good"...

if you have the time and money, get a 1jz, but you could also get a 7m and put that extra money towards paint, because you'd be suprised how much more you can get for a car that looks good, and drives even better.

dont forget to put the silencing stuff on the back of the pads... nobody likes a banshee supra comin at them.... the spray stuff works best too, just turn the pads face down, spray the back with 2-4 coats with like 2 min between, and then slap em on there, and they should be silent!
