Oh snap... Glad you told me that, today's the last time I push the car until I get that one sorted.
5 days into owning a 7M and enough stuff has broken to warrent me wanting a JZ series motor, hehe
I don't think I have the right tools to check it - Is it that HUGE bolt coming from the crank? (Yes, I know I'm a n00b). Is that car still safe to drive, or should I leave it sitting until I can invest in a decent enough tool kit.
Thanks for that Kai. I thought it was the Crank pulley bolt, I just don't have the right tools to tighten it up :( Is it still safe to drive?
So, does astra fender trick completely replace the rear panel? Does it look any different?
Well, after seeing rust that bad, I had to rush down stairs and check my car out, again. I've pulled the trunk carpet back and everything looked in A1 shape, apart from something I noticed. The center part of the trunk, where you put the spare wheel is covered in a metal with a rough pattern...
But will the bubbling come back again like the body guy said? I don't exactly want to have to be fibreglassing the arch constantly, if so I'll use this car just as a beater and buy a car with a better body.
And the rust is only on one side, BTW. I've been given a quote of £200 $400 ish? To...
Hey there.
I picked up my new 88 NA auto supra on Tuesday and now that some of the excitement has worn off, I'm looking to take some criticism.
The car has got 86,276 miles on the clock last time I checked, has had a recent headgasket change, alternator, battery and general service by...
Nerd turned Cool guy turned Nerd again. The "cool" people were complete asses, taking the piss out of anything and everyone including me, so I cut em all off and went back to my old, slightly geeker friends. I found it a lot more enjoyable talking about the latest games than a shitty new rap CD...
I had the same problem (it's a new car, and I near said myself because I thought it was a BHG (and a slow running oil leak I've got didn't ease my mind.)
I Checked my water levels and it was near empty. Topped off the water and I haven't heard the "boiling water" sound yet.
Looking kinda like an episode of overhailin', just without the rebuild :D
How long did it take to get the car completely stripped, and how many people where working on it?
Awesome, thanks.
I know I really should start with a manual car, but I'm getting too much of a great deal to let a silly auto transmission get in the way.
Is it any easier going with the W58 swap for now
I plan to go 2JZ in about a year, so getting a R154 in the car now would save money in the long run, but if it's easier, then I'll get the W58
I know this question has been done a million times, but every thread I've come across converts a Turbo car to manual while I'd be converting an NA car.
Is it possible to use the R154 into a NA car?
and will I need any extra parts on top of the usual stuff required to do a Auto to Manual...
Maybe it's got something to do with supras are dealerships?
There was a 92 black NA auto parked outside a the local mechanic's place. It looked in good shape and I hadn't even been in a supra before this, so I say what the hell and have a look. The bodywork was really nice, apart from the rust...
