Auto to Manual

I know this question has been done a million times, but every thread I've come across converts a Turbo car to manual while I'd be converting an NA car.

Is it possible to use the R154 into a NA car?

and will I need any extra parts on top of the usual stuff required to do a Auto to Manual swap on a turbo car?

The Auto to Manual swap will not be different on a turbo or non turbo car. The difference between the turbo & non turbo is the oil lines & turbos. The basic structure of the R154 is still the same parts to install. turbo or non turbo.
correct me if i'm wrong.

If you're going to put an R154 into an N/A, just get all the appropriate turbo parts (7M-GTE flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder, driveshaft, etc). An R154 will bolt up fine to a 7M-GE, but you'll want to make sure you use a Turbo parts list for the parts you need.

Well, I'd be looking at a conversion kit with the following parts:

* Engine Wiring Loom
* Engine ECU
* Gearbox
* Speed Sensor
* Prop Shaft
* Rear Diff
* Clutch Lever
* Brake Lever
* Pedel Box
* Master/Slave Cylinders
* Gear Lever
* Gear level Trim
* Gear Knob

Anything more I need?

Well you can check out my thread. Thats about everything for a Swap for a R154 to 2JZ motor.

Is it any easier going with the W58 swap for now

I plan to go 2JZ in about a year, so getting a R154 in the car now would save money in the long run, but if it's easier, then I'll get the W58

the w58 for a 7m will work. im not sure how the swap works for it but its most likely the same probably just needs some changing parts of the clutch & stuff. Jeff Lange will be able to fill you in better.

I think it's better to convert it yourself anyways, rather then sell your car and buy a 5 speed.

this way you gain knowledge, expereince, and you get to have fun! and the outcome is WAY worth it!
