I'll go out on a limb here and say that you could probably push 500 at the crank with the stock twins on a 1J, with the right supporting mods. It sounds like you are seriously under estimating the power of the MK3 - Both 7M's and 1JZ will make 500hp with ease (with the right mods).

I believe that the Aristo was fitted with two transmissions, the MK1's don't feature the semi auto mode that the MK2 has, to be honest, I not entirly sure that feature is because of different transmissons :P I remember hearing that TH400s are built up Aristo trans. Any, $5000 seems pretty...

I'm not sure if a turbo motor would make much difference - The GTE will only offer 30ish HP more than the GE stock for stock.
