The reason I asked is because you have to measure your head and block after getting machined. To know what size hg to buy. What size is the one you have?

I don't think it's your problem, like ij said it might be pushing you over the edge, but is not the main problem. All three of my supra were missing it. And never caused a problem. . It get really hot down here in south Texas. Hell of all the supras I've seen only one that I've know has had one.

You have the hg already? How did you know what size? Are you gonna rebuild the bottom?

it can't hurt to change out the filter and fuel. See if this sound like your symptoms. Idles good, revs fine up to 3000 or so rpms, when hits a certain rpm. It boogers and shutters, drops back down to 800 rpms or so, and ideas fine after.

So it idles fine? And only dies or shutters when you give it gas? Have you mess with your tps? I know it hasn't thrown A code.

Am always afraid of the results. But man it can save you a lot of time instead of chasing symptoms. I wasted a week on mine.

Over flow tank boiling over? Not into, but out of the overflow tank. Like your cooling system is over pressurised. Also is your coolant rust colored?

My next guess would be possible bhg. Any coolant coming out the reservoir? Or gauge just getting hot?

Do you have a thermostat?

Was that for me? If it was I have the set from my 1j that I'm gonna use fro my 2j. Its a little different I have a single turbo and the one on the intake side is short by a couple of inches. I could cut the frame but I'd rather not. If I extend it it should be all good.

Would a open or no thermostat. Do the same thing? Not keeping the coolant in the radiator long enough? I had a problem with over heating once a long time ago and when I was checking the car out. The previous owner didn't put a thermostat in. I just can't remember when the symptoms occurred. I...

Yeah they are for the most part the same. On one I did just switch the face of the switch.
