    Lock up fan clutch?

OK, thanks. Reading the temperature at top and bottom really only does me any good if i have adequate airflow anyways though. And yes i do have a fan shroud and the engine skid plate. Im pretty sure the radiator isn't clogged and i have flushed it out good, but what i am not sure of is the...

    Lock up fan clutch?

Ok, thanks for the post. I will look up rebuilding it and testing it properly. I just want to be more safe than sorry when first entering, as i don't want to be stuck with a car that wants to heat up a lot. I have seen in my current temperature of about 75 degrees that my cooling system creeps...

    Lock up fan clutch?

I'm going to Az, where temperatures are around 105-110. I don't have confidence in my fan clutch and don't want to put down $145 for a brand new one. My current clutch doesn't have any signs of leakage or anything, but i have had it out of the car, and when i heated the thermostatic coil and...

    whinning/ screeching sound????

That does sound like something is going on with your security system as the horn for it is right next to the brake master cylinder

    Lock up fan clutch?

I was wondering if anyone has actually deliberately locked up their stock fan clutch? I am going to be moving to a very hot climate and i think it would be fine if the clutch was engaged 100% of the time. It would be cool if i could make something that i could put on or remove any time rather...

    does e-brake ever let loose?

the car isn't going to hold on a steep hill just in gear. Its the engine compression that holds it from moving, and obviously compression does leak down and when it does it will make it easier to turn/roll. But when used with the e brake, its extra assurance, and if your e brake does anything...

    does e-brake ever let loose?

its very unlikely that the cable would snap, its high strength braided wire. If you find yourself pulling the ebrake handle very high before it holds the car you may need to adjust the tension on the cables, I think its 5-8 clicks that it should be. I ALWAYS leave my car in gear, handbrake's...

    Air conditioning flush

the only problem is i don't know if it is going to cool that well is 100+ temperatures when i move, so im trying to get it 100% perfect BEFORE i move, because once i do im staying in an apartment and its very hard to do any work out in 100 degree weather, in a parking lot. My whole goal here...

    Air conditioning flush

Ok i have an update. I did end up fully flushing the entire system myself and filling it myself with r134a and ester oil, and now i am having some odd pressure issues, maybe you guys can take a look at this thread i made on the AC forum and see if you have any ideas...

    ICE 32 refridgerant oil additive

sitting in 100 degree weather idle in traffic, i doubt your ac will blow 39 degrees, if this helps anything it will probably only be at idle where your system cannot keep up, and maybe it will help if you have other problems in the system.

    Air conditioning flush

You guys might want to consider cleaning out your evaporator case next time you have the system open haha

The thing I hate the most about supras/my supra is.......

I hate that my jack doesn't fit under any jack points except the pinch welds, which by the way bend every time i jack the car up.

    Air conditioning flush

what i am mainly worried about is paying 300 dollars, getting it back and having a system that still performs poorly because one of my parts is worn out or not working right. I am taking the evaporator out to change some seals, so while im at it i am going to change the expansion valve because...

    Air conditioning flush

Quick question. When filling up R134a, what kind of pressure chart do i use? All the pressure charts i can find are showing static (non running) temp/pressure. When im filling the system, the car is going ot be running, so how do i know what low side pressure to stop at(with car running). Also...

    Air conditioning flush

My mr2 was bought with no refrigerant in it, i filled it with HC refrigerant and it worked great, so i thought i would do the same in my Supra. Anyways, i got a quote from a shop in town, they are asking about $150 for a full flush, and about $150 for a 134a charge, so i think i am going to...

    Air conditioning flush

Air is the biggest problem, i have no means of using compressed air as of right now. What kind of pricing do you think i am looking at if i were to release the hydrocarbon refrigerant, and have the system flushed professionally. From there i could fill the needed oil and r134A myself. ( No...

    Air conditioning flush

I want to do a flush myself, but not only do i not know how to do it properly, i dont have access to any of the tools i need to do it. Ideally i would like the system to be flushed by a professional and filled with R12 by a professional, as i dont think i am qualified enough to get the system...
