    Coolant stained cylinders?

oh, no, it does not appear to be anything popping off the surface, its very smooth and if you were only feeling inside the cylinder you wouldn't be able to tell anything was there, its only visible.

    Coolant stained cylinders?

Ya sorry i forgot to mention you cannot wipe it off. I will try some of what you are talking about and also take some pictures in a couple days when i can get access to it. It looks a little bit like this, (the white part, not the rust) and there is more of it. It looks a little like what the...

    Coolant stained cylinders?

Well i have purchased a short block that was recently rebuilt, and towards the top of a few of the cylinders there is some staining that appears to be from coolant dripping over when the head was removed ( a guess as to what it actually is from). My question is, it this ok or does the whole...

    Oil cooler without thermostat?

You will just over-cool the oil and cold oil is thicker oil so its not better, you want it at proper operating temperature, not too hot not too cold.

    Machine deck with shortblock assembled?

Im not interested in how to rebuild an engine 101. Im interested in what THIS engine and many other Toyota engines need for a PROPER rebuild. And no, that doesn't mean taking out Toyota bearings and putting in STD size clevites. What i don't understand is what needs to all be machined. Are the...

    Turbo Oil Line Nuts... WTF!?

Unscrew the line off the block, pull the turbo off and torque it properly where you can get to it, then put it all back in and you just have to put that banjo bolt back in the block

    Removing exhaust studs

Its aluminum, you must be doing something wrong... But just cause they are screwed in tight/stripped doesn't mean they wont pull strait out when you go to torque them down.

    7mge help!!

Congrats on the new Supra! Its not uncommon for these engines to be clean and in good shape if the previous owner properly maintained it, but then again, how common is that :p. There are red/white clips that go to all the injectors, but the red/white connectors under the intake most likely go...

    It's ALIVE !!

Congrats! If i were you i would have used toyota select fit bearings, but as long as you properly machined everything for the clevites thats good too. Now you have a fully rebuilt motor! Just curious, how much did each of the machining procedures cost?

    Bhg?

Make sure you use a tap to chase the threads in the block if you are using head studs. Also if you replace the valve cover bolts with hex heads, make sure you use the proper inch pound torque wrench to install them. There's a reason Toyota used Phillips head screws there, its so people don't...

AC going back in, need input on flush

Ok, that makes sense, didn't really think about that. Upon more searching and seeking professional help it seems my txv is the wrong one and installed improperly (not my fault!:X). Apparently it is pressure sensing and the way mine is oriented it is sensing pressure on the wrong side and holding...

AC going back in, need input on flush

Does anyone know how much oil would be suspended in the evaporator and condenser? I currently have Ester oil in my system with my R134A which to my knowledge is compatible with both refrigerants. I took my car to a toyota dealership to help me diagnose what was wrong with it, and he pulled a...

    Cooling issue

I dont think that's a logical explanation considering the fact that to my knowledge im pretty sure they still toque them at 58 ft lbs at the dealership? Someone correct me if im wrong, is there a TSB somewhere? Also, the stock bolts are not torque to yield bolts, so they can be reused. Nowhere...
