uh...he posted yesterday? why do we think he's gone? so his build thread is gone...what does that say?
maybe hes just busy?
his profile does say he doesnt have a supra...and i think i read that his post count dwindled to the still greak 10k posts? what was it before? this is getting silly...
wow...i read this... i just found out about this. and it sucks. but if he felt the need to leave it's proabaly a good decision...
IJ if you read this, thanks a lot for all your help, i'm sad too see ya leave such a great forum, and I hope that things go better, that is...if something did...
i dont know a lot about oil...but i've heard that getting clean oil is bad because its not doing its job at collecting particles...but then you wonder...what if its lubricating so well that there arent enough particles to make the oil dirty in the first place?
I'd like to see a professional...
rent it one day, return it, rent it when you want to re-install engine.
unless you have no other way of holding the engine..which i just realized and now think my point might be....pointless...lol.
cool. umm... so do you hear more engine noise or intake air rushing?
i'm thinking about eliminating my resonator...and my piping on the TB is on its way out anyway....
how large is the throttle body? 3 in? why couldnt you fit 3in?
yeah i agree...it seems dangerous to have 3 peices of the car supported by different things... you have to brace the car from moving, support the engine, and then drop the suspension enough to get room to work...and unless the car and engine are lifted to a considerable height it seems (in my...
yeah i read the TSRM and it looks like hard work...but i dont actually know. you have to lift the car onto jackstands, undo all the steering components, drop them down, and then maybe some things with the engine as well...but since you have to remove the head you might as well go ahead and pull...
yeah i second that. i dont want to bash you or the product...it does sound good but also skeptical and both sides of the discussion on why oil companies dont already use this are totally valid. i cant think of a more controversial subject than oil....and the industry is so huge i would not be...
lol....uhh....even after warmed up? did it do that before??
is this because you releaved some restriction or what? thats kinda high....lol.
i think its fine...in fact i might do the same thing!
how much louder is it?
stock airbox?
t3d- did you touch ANYTHING else besides the intake pipes, AFM, or air filter?
just a weird check here but...you dont have anything obstructing the intake do you? i dont know how airfilters are packaged but i could imagine if they had some sort of guard against foreign objects during...
ok then. thanks for clarification..its just something that popped into mind when he said he made that specific intake mod and could have neglected the vac hose...
congrats man, i love your car...and the pic of the dyno strap says it all.
rajunx - your car is awsome too...love the colors, and the rims and gauge give it a cool unique touch - awsome!
kevinm - nice clean look, i like the front end
malloynx - i like those rims, what are they? the black...
look at the pics... its kinda obvious in the ones at the end...you can see the carbon fiber. its the whole outer rim.
Somehow, if i understand the properties of carbon fiber, i think the fact that they would fracture instead of bend is a bad property....but if you smack a curb or a pothole...
umm....i could just go out tomorrow and pinch mine off....
then i could tell you and save you the trouble of potentially mucking up your intake. but whatever....
lol.
let me know and i'll squeeze it...if i can reach it with the motor running. if it runs like shat then we have an answer...
that custom intake PVC-looking thing.....does it have a vacc. line feed? i believe your vacuum system should have a line running to it....the stock setup does and if you forgot that, i'd wait for more confirmation to see if you NEED it. b/c it might be your problem. good luck.
