    Overheating issues

Lol oh yeah I remember reading that article a while back, some good info in there. I will do that assuming I can get my hands on some R12. Is R12 still available over the counter through any stores or am I better off getting it from a private seller? I have my 609 cert so that is not an issue...

    Overheating issues

Thanks for the tips JJ. I have charged a couple systems before but no telling if I did it 100% properly (don't worry, only on my own vehicles). One thing I never quite understood about charging with pressure, superheat or subcool is how you can get the right amount in with just these readings...

Not getting fuel pressure after Walbro 255 swap. Help.

Sounds like you could have a kinked or pinched line somewhere considering you can hear the pump running. You could also have the polarity on the pump backwards. Can you hear any fuel flowing in the rail when you jumper FP and B+ in the diag box with the key on? Maybe your regulator is backed off...

    Overheating issues

What do you guys say about charging at home with single cans of refrigerant? Is it possible to get a precise amount of refrigerant into the system? That would be the only reason I would have a shop charge it. I rented a Mastercool vacuum pump so I can pull a deep long vacuum and check for leaks...

    Overheating issues

Ah, I see. Only things I would be comfortable with flushing out myself are the actual lines. All I have is compressed air and solvent, not too confident that I could get all of it out of the heat exchangers, especially the condenser. If that condenser has to come out again, trust me, a new one...

    Overheating issues

Haha yeah, and then we get rain 6 hours later... What made you change your mind from a suction line restriction to a liquid line restriction? Anyways, new OEM TXV, drier, and valve cores are on their way. Still open to any suggestions on how to find this restriction if it lies somewhere other...

Pretty sure it just helps retract the belt when you open the door, puts more tension on it.

    AEM Uego Mounting?

Looking at it from the rear, it's at about the 10 o clock position, just fits barely without hitting the transmission (I have a W58 so there might be more clearance on mine than yours, I can try to get a pic of it later if you want).

    Overheating issues

OK JJ I did it exactly as you said. AC, med blower, recirc, windows open, 2100 RPM for 15 min. Heres what I got Ambient temp: Around 105, pavement measured at 155 Deg F High side: 260 PSI (245 w/hood open) Low side: 11 PSI Vent: 54 Deg (51 w/hood open) Suc Line temp: 84 Deg according to my...

    Failed MHG install? Now what??

If you look, you can visually see an indentation from the compression sealing ring of the stock head gasket around the cylinder, this is going to reduce how much the MLS is going to seal in the most important area. One of the biggest reasons the block needs to be machined even if it is super...

    AEM Uego Mounting?

If its new it will come with one, just get it welded it wont cost you much. Best to put it far away like people said. I have mine mounted on my aftermarket downpipes probably 6 or 7 inches in front of the cat, next to the transmission, then ran the wire in through the shifter hole. They do make...

    Overheating issues

I will check tomorrow, I am going to use my Raytek though hopefully it is accurate enough (can't check it while driving either). I would expect to see slightly high subcooling because of a lack of refrigerant flow, correct?

    Overheating issues

If anyone can shed some light on which expansion valve part number I need that would be great, going to head to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully get this thing changed asap. If nothing else, I will just ask for the expansion valve for my VIN. I suppose if I blow through the evaporator with...

    Overheating issues

Hmm, easier said than done lol. I'm not sure if it is possible or not to pull just the lower half of the evaporator case off while in car. At this point, since I will be pulling the EVAP I am fine with replacing the TXV (still don't know which part number to get), but is there any way to check...

    Overheating issues

As much as I would like to have some equipment of my own it just isnt realistic with my current living situation. I really have no problem taking my car in for evac/charge if I know I am going to fix a problem, I just dont like the idea of doing all this only to throw a part at it with high...

    Overheating issues

I have no problem pulling the evap trust me, I have pulled it out at least 5 times now, it's cake. The expensive part is buying the TXV (OEM is around $90) and having a shop recover and recharge my system. While I have the old TXV out, is there any way to functionally test it? I have already had...

    Overheating issues

Well to be honest I am getting funky readings from my thermocouple and I am trying to figure out why. I'm not over analyzing it, I am just trying to figure out how it works. Why is it that the readings accuracy is affected by the DMM temperature? I don't know why my pressures are the way they...
