if you got it installed, you're over the hurdle that the threads would help. a starter with threaded bolt holes don't need a nut.

you'll do yourself a favor by getting one with threads :)

the hood pin mod is the much simpler way, but is you decide to go the other way and disconnect the theft deterrent and ground the blue/orange wire, make sure it's a good ground
