I still have my window sticker, sales receipt and the Toyota brochure some where. I payed about 21K out the door for an '87 NA, actually got it in November '86.
As far as California smog legal, here is the site:

I didn't see any Tanabe products listed under Tanabe as the manufacturer.
There may also be a noise limit. I don't know if its a city code or if its state. One guy told me that its a...
I use some blue stuff, I think its a silicone cement, that's made by Permatex to bond the pads to the shims to the piston. Its probably the same stuff IJ is refering to. It stops vibration, which is the squeeling you hear.
You also should bed-in the pads. That's when you drive 50-60 mph...
Helicoil has twinserts, basically a heli-coil inside a heli-coil.

or you can go with a keensert, like IJ said

If so many people didn't move here, California probably wouldn't have as many problems. I'm born in California, but 75% of the people I work with wasn't. OK, 75% is a guess, its probably much higher.
Thanks for commenting Hal. I did the duty cycle calculations too and decided to go to 720cc for safety.
I've got an AEM and 720cc injectors in the box for my rebuild. I was worried about idling those garden hose injectors.
Incidently,my RC 720cc's were very expensive. Much more than 550's...
Hydrogen fuel has been explored for decades. I remember reading a Popular Mechanics article on hydrogen powered airplanes. There are huge benefits from using hydrogren as fuel. However, there are a lot of problems. One of the biggest problem is how do you keep the explosive hydrogen under...
I got a water injection system from TEP.
They seem to have a lot of 7M stuff. I think most of their work is geared to racing and not really for street, unless you're a street racer. I don't know about their work. They seem to cater to 7M Supras.
I had a HKS Sport Exhaust.
I liked it. It didn't make a lot of noise. Had a little rumble.
Definately not the one if you're looking to get attention.
I've got a HKS 85mm turbo exhaust. Its very noisy.
You've got to get it smogged to transfer registration.
You have to pass a visual inspection, so all the smog equipment, especially the cat. has to be on.
Then there's the emissions test which is in two parts. One at idle, and one at 25mph if I remember right. Check out the link...
I considered getting an ignition like MSD. But if you're going that route, than you'd probably want a fuel computer too. In fact, you'll need that fuel computer before you need the ignition. So I decided to just go with a full standalone.
I have basically a stock W58 on basically stock 7MGTE motor and rebuilt/modded turbo with only an intercooler mod and running stock 7PSI boost (I can't figure out how to program and run my HKS EVC). The W58 and stock clutch has performed flawlessly. But then I don't race around town. Although...
They're working.
You can hear the actuator move. And I've checked the clocking of the actuaor and strut many times.
Can anyone else tell the difference between the TEMS settings?
I've got Illumina's with TEMS with stock springs.
They are stiffer than stock, but expensive. And just like Toyota TEMS, you can't feel the difference between the different TEMS settings.
If I did it again, I'd go without TEMS. Ohhhh...in fact I do have some coilovers in the box ready for...
