    7mgte Dynoed Today

Yep. At 13 PSIa. (363 WHP actually.) I've had conversations with Reg about things that he's done on 'the blue car' that I can't find on his web page. Whoops. Was quoting wrong numbers. That was at 13 PSIa with stock CT26. Seems that the run oh the sport turbo dynoed less power, but he does...

    Replacment Headlights.

Well, LED is easily past the 50W range, and really, that's more light than headlights need, considering that halogen high beams are 65W, given the low lumens/watt range of halogen vs LED, there should be no need for more than 40W of power dissipation. Yes, HID is still more efficient, but those...

    steering wheel pics

Not fancy or even aftermarket but... I actually quite like the factory wheel, so I re-covered the wheel this summer in new leather.

    Customized my instrument cluster

I'd have to say that the flaws in the fibreglass finish would make me crazy, and if you're going to use fibreglass and body filler in the final project, then I think that another approach other than building on the factory part would have been better. Please don't take this as "hating" or...

    Frustrated with front speaker install

I had a set of '91 speaker pods, and put them in. The problem is that they're open baffle, and in the end, I put my 4" separates back in, because there were sound issues that bugged me and I couldn't get rid of. I've got a prototype design for a 6.5" speaker pod which has a 0.31 cubic foot...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Don't do it! If you want to clean out your oil system, then just change the oil twice in a couple of days.

7MGTE - OEM Piston Capability Question

I think that for your stated service, you're getting a stilted view. For your "day to day" boost of 14 PSI, you should be able to get to 350-375 WHP on stock electronics, Lexus AFM and 550s without a problem. You might get close to 400 with the piggybacks, and so long as you're taking time to...

7mgte lex 550 lean under boost

Yeah... That should mean running rich under boost, lean at idle and vacuum. :?

    7mgte Dynoed Today

Great. Why not share some of that knowledge? He knows that he has a lack of knowledge, and he's not an idiot. Advise being given to the OP is to increase boost, and Grandavi is asking if it's a good idea to that level. If we assume that the shortblock is in good health and will be well...

    Power Window Help

The passenger side switch is well known for oxidation, and when it does, neither switch will make the window move. Basically you clean it up and it's all good. However, if the driver's side is also not working, that's generally something else. Step 1. The power windows and seats get power...

    7mgte Dynoed Today

IIRC, Reg Reimer (Who is super conservative with his builds/power) ran his '82 GTE with a stock shortblock, stock head gasket, stock head bolts (Torqued to 72 ft-lbs) and an HKS turbo with intercooler up to 21 lbs boost when testing the limits of the Lexus/550 upgrade. It's a given that all of...

That's what I thought, too, unless it's in between the AFM and the turbo inlet, including the ISC pipe, bypass valve pipe, PCV pipe...

Massive amounts of coolant in oil. No BHG. HELP

Well anything that has both oil and coolant seals could be the problem. The turbo could be the problem too. When you pull the head, check those passages that you drilled. I would suspect those more than the rivet on the head gasket myself.

Massive amounts of coolant in oil. No BHG. HELP

Well, if you pop your head off, you should drill ALL the rivets out to clean your MLS head gasket if you plan to re-use it. Or, drill that rivet out on a new one. I checked mine for clearance, and I'm okay.

Massive amounts of coolant in oil. No BHG. HELP

Take a look at the rivet at the lower right hand side in this pic. It sits on the lower timing cover just a bit. In this case though it's far enough out and does not hit on the actual head, so I left the rivet in place. What I understand as the actual problem riven is that there are some gaskets...

    Wanted to share this

Heh. I bought my '89NA with under 62,000 km on the odometer (40,000 miles or so) Of course that was as of Feb 29, 1996.

7mgte lex 550 lean under boost

I'd say you want to get those injectors flow tested. The TCCS is well known to run "pig rich" by default, and you can have a large variation in base fuel pressure (Assuming that your regulator works as it should, and adapts pressure based on manifold pressure) and it will adapt and still run pig...

    mouting afm upside down

I would be concerned about moisture in the air condensing into the sensor. I've seen lots of people have the sensor stop working when they attempt to clean the housing, and I had assumed that the reason why Toyota put it on the top like that was to prevent condensate (or indeed dust, though...

7mgte lex 550 lean under boost

Do you have your Walbro running full-time 12V? With my car, same fuel system mods, and base fuel pressure set to 40 PSI, it ran rich enough to get a film of soot on the rear bumper over the exhaust running a tank of gas in town. I didn't have a wideband, and so I was erring on the side of being...

Speedometer is inaccurate? How to recalibrate?

There is a tension adjustment on the speedo that can be changed. If your odometer isn't bad (I don't think that they're ever 100%) just the speed, then you can make a change there. The speedo needle is pushed up when the cable turns, which slips, and pushes against a spring. Make the spring...
