    1988 Door Locks Not Working!!!

Whoa whoa whoa. Take the door panel off. Look at the locking mechanism. If you can't turn the key, and you can't press the tab, then something is jammed. All of those rods have to move in order for the lock to activate, so anything that jams ANY of them from moving stops the whole works...

    mkiii auto center console

If you get one from a 1991 or 1992, then there will be more room. For those model years, that's where the airbag computer was. Otherwise, the part is the same for automatic or manual transmission.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Well, it wasn't today, but I brought her home a younger sister.

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

@paytoncoyote: You need to read up on catalytic converters. They don't collect stuff, they act as a catalyst on the exhaust gasses to ensure complete combustion. All of the atoms that go into it come out, but rearranged, so that they're less harmful. @Nick: I agree on screwed up laws, and those...

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

When I was looking at exhaust setups, I was told that removing my completely nonfunctional cat was fine, but that I could not install a different, non-factory one. If I were to retain a catalytic converter at all, I had to install both factory ones, or else it would qualify as "tampering with...

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

That's one thing that the LIPP part is really good for. It doesn't do that, and mates up to the aftermarket large downpipes nicely.

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

Good to know, but now that I have it, upgrading from here is a pretty low priority, I've got a lot of other areas that I can make power from easier now.

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

Basically the same. I'd put my LIPP elbow and RT downpipe up against any downpipe with elbow any day.

DDP vs Elbow + DP vs DP w/ Elbow

It's a question of degree, and what will suit your goals. I have a LIPP elbow with an RT downpipe. This suits me, and works fine with my turbonetics bolt-on turbo. I'm not 100% certain that a DDP for the CT26 would work exactly as expected, since I have a slightly different (Though it still...

    I remember the days....

Well, it's pretty close to a buck a litre for Premium at the Costcos here currently. About $1.08 most stations. Gas prices just took a drop around here. A US gallon is 3.78 litres, so that's something over $4.00/US gallon. An imperial gallon (As in, what everyone in the world outside of the...

A Sad day in the Supra World

I'm kind of disappointed in the hating in this thread. Okay, the OP's find wasn't in the best taste, and the execution definitely lacked finesse, but really, I bet that most of you have at one time or another hacked something together that wasn't exactly pro level and liked it for what it was...

To 2JZ or not to 2JZ

This is wrong. The 7M-GTE factory electronics can run a 2JZ-GE. So you need a Mk3 turbo to swap in the Mk4 NA motor. The bonus is that it still handles everything right if you add a turbo to the 2JZ. So what? By the time I've paid for the motor, done the electronics to make it work in my A70...

Try to start up and everything shuts off, electrical

That doesn't explain the O2 sensor. Check for broken wires. The AFM does expect laminar airflow through it, so something busted could do something bad, however given the design of the stock air filter, it should be able to deal with that. Again, I'd say check for damage to the wiring harness.

A Sad day in the Supra World

OP car was bad, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. There was stuff on there that could actually look good with a clean paint job. And if it were more complete. The car in the video... There were some things there that I actually liked, though the paint job was definitely NOT one of them. The...

Try to start up and everything shuts off, electrical

Okay, when it shuts everything off, what do you need to do before it lights up the dashboard again. That will be the big clue. If you need to fiddle with battery terminals under the hood, then battery terminals and cables is where you need to look. If you need to charge the battery, then...

"91 Supra vs. 2010ish E class Benz in the twisties...

You can get away with less power if you have the edge in suspension and traction. Against that AMG, Toyota's A70 chassis isn't going to have a suspension edge without major upgrades. A 22 year old stock suspension isn't going to do it, not unless your tires are asphalt adhesive. I've only ever...

Try to start up and everything shuts off, electrical

TSRM Page BE-13 Take a look at that, it's in the driver's kickpanel. Pay particular attention to item #14, which is the power circuit breaker. This sort of resets after a time, and can be manually reset py pressing something smallish into a hole in the center. If this is triggering, then you...

"91 Supra vs. 2010ish E class Benz in the twisties...

I know. I hit the wrong number. I do actually know what my car weighs. :p I still say that without some serious upgrades, you aren't going to spend much time hanging with the AMG. MAYBE in a Mk4. With upgrades.

"91 Supra vs. 2010ish E class Benz in the twisties...

20+ year old Stock suspension, you aren't going to win. Even with new parts, keeping up would be tricky, and if he's got upgraded suspension, forget it. Even though the Supra was excellent handling for the late 80's, it's still almost 3000 lbs of car. I used to tell my friends back in my NA...
