Put my car in reverse [w58] to leave this morning and heard a loud.....bang.
Went on my way and drove fine..Put it in reverse to back into my driveway again.. BANG !
ideas?
Yea its a w58 so the lightweight Fly would make a difference too.
Didnt think about the one piece DS as well.
minor p & p = casting flash removed a nice gasket port match.
Ive just seen so many guys over do it and lose hp in the long haul.
Thanks for the info too.
Nose chunks:
The local track...
I have the money and plenty of time.
And for the most part enough knowledge to get it done but just not every single detail.
hence why i'm asking if its worth it.
But if i can get 250-ish on a 7mge, I may go that way as well.
All depends on what would be better for me in the long run.
I just...
Just the fact that its a newer engine and from what Ive read
doesnt have oil consumption and HG issues.
aside from that its a never looking engine no afm crap.
God I hate that thing.
No It has 26 more than the 7mge, Which is what I have right now.
Dont want a gte, I want to stay NA.
= NA FTW
I Just got supra a few weeks ago but with the oil leaks and burning oil and low compression numbers I'd like to start looking towards my next motor for this car.
I pulled a 102K 7mge last year and its sitting in my garage.Im fine with staying N/A, More of just wanted a good running motor...
lol, Yea..No joke. These SS clutch lines are hardly fun to do in the first place but to do 3 and 4 times trying to figure out what the issue out def is not fun.I mean its just one MM but I just got an OEM replacement and it was 13mm deep in tread and no leaking so that has to be it.
I found my dilemma, I got the micrometer out and the slave cylinder inlet
[From DM]is 11.2 deep the the threaded part on the DM SS hose is 10.01
So...Thats why Its not bottoming out..Its running out of thread room.
Can't wait till I get around to putting the rest of my SS hoses on.
Its tightening all the way, Theres almost no gap when fully engaged.
and the DM line has the tiny o-ring in side the female inlet.
So I dont get whats not working here.
Im about to weld this bitch up.
How about that..Would that work IJ ?..lol
ok thats done, Onto the next issue. =/
I replaced the slave cylinder and master clutch cylinder along with the SS line that goes to the slave..On the end that you connect the hose to the actual slave cylinder its leaking..Its completely tightened down and I still have a leak.First instinct...
So Ive read up on this quite a bit but it'd lay my mind to rest a biot if I ran this across some of you that have already done this.
This part replaces the part on the bottom of the shifter..Did you guys just pull it off ..cut it or what?
It doesnt seem to really want to come off very...
Thanks for the advice IJ, Im guessing I can get that at any autozone.
I just got this car and it looks like the suspension has never been touched so the easier way for me
would be to drop the engine sub frame and do all the suspension updating then as well.
Might as well knock out two or three...
Exactly !
Its not much fun R & R'ing maintenance parts.
Go fast parts are a bit different.
But with this car as I'm quickly learning..are usually still a PITA.
Oil pan and drain plug leakage ftl.
Oil is pooling quickly out of the oil pan gasket and drain plug.
The drain plug is stripped and had about 2 lbs of Teflon tape to keep in the oil and the oil pan gasket is almost as bad. Short of pulling the motor is there any easier way to put in a new...
Wow...lol, Thanks guys.
Thanks for the offer Lewis But I went on to DM and got The works.
Clutch master cylinder, Slave cylinder and matching SS braided Hose.
Might as well upgrade as long as im down there tearing it apart.
had an incident kind of like "Rocketguy13" But a little different too.
I just driving along, Not hard...and I go to shift into 2nd gear and the clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays there..I had to manually put my foot behind it to bring it back up.
I pumped it up and drove it very...
