Same as with any swap..made a custom engine cross member, custom tranny mount, custom exhaust, custom front mount and piping..etc The stock supra harness was actually about a foot too long where i mounted the ecu so good to go on that...The speedo was plug and play, the stock z clutch master...
Yeah fixed the running hot issue, i just had to flush the system.. i thought i did a good job cleaning the rad but i didn't..When i drained the rad looks like pure mud was coming out hose; man was it dirty i guess the 200 dgrees temp made the dirt and grim i missed loose.. i let the engine run...
The 1jz is truly a special engine, i just can't get enough of that exhaust note....When I'm hitting boost and the 1jz is turning 7k+ i get the feeling that it's in another league. no disrespect to dsm's, honda, mitsu..etc but the jz engines are in their own leauge..Im wondering how did I afford...
Takes more than just engine power to run 10's..you can pretty much brute force your way to low 12's high 11's..but 10's alot of other things have to happen..safety first!

Wow! this car is insanely fast, so far so good. Engine runs like a champ, no vibration in the body so the mount is holding well. I have a couple of issues, i need a oil restrict in the turbo feed line, My car seems to be getting hot after about 30mins-hour of driving the temp goes to about 210...
holset are fairly cheap, so why would anyone buy a fake.. now if a holset was triple the price then it would be different. Ive a had a Evo 16g ebay fake on my truck for 20,000+ miles with no pproblems..
He's asking for a base tune...sure the best bet is always standalone but everyone doesn't have $1,200+ laying around...He has a safc II and 550cc injectors, my guess is he could go a year or so with a pretty quick car(400whp) and save for a Standalone... I agree get a wideband and FPR and tune...
The higher you rev the chances of breaking something are higher correct? Also i wonder how a stock cammed 1jz at 500 would feel? With the turbo tech thats out these days, dual BB 6262 billet for example, should make the power low in the rpm range..Theres a youtube video of a guy just blowing in...
I understand your place here on the forums so your post was very justified, no problems here. My definition of reliable is " safety" daily driven with no major problems and maybe twice a month blasting down the strip. Or taking a 300-400 mile trip with out problems... I believe i can blow any...
My biggest point was it really depends on the condition of your engine...My brother point was" the jz engines are really old now, so they all need to be re-ring, or rebuilt." maybe so.
