Also make sure you use a good solvent, (brake clean would work as it does not leave a residue) to clean any grease at may be leftover in the holes. This will assure the locktite adheres and sets up to secure the insert in place.
That all looks correct. One step you may want to add, and as someone else stated above. After you get the holes tapped, you may want to make a second pass in each hole with the tap loaded with grease, to collect any residual shards of aluminium.
It will sound just like the tick you are trying to solve now. My gasket was missing so much that when I would rev the engine from under the hood by hand, you could feel air moving. There was so much exhaust leaking you could feel the air moving like there was a hair dryer bolted to the back of...
If you buy the recoil 37100 kit it comes with the tap, you would just need the drill bit, either 10.25mm or 13/32. The tap does not say what size it is, just has their part numbers on it, but I believe it is larger than m10-1.25 as the is the inside of the tread insert size. If i recall I think...
To each his own. In my opinion once the inserts are installed and locked in place properly, there should never be an issue with them stripping again, so fine or coarse threads should not matter.
I highly doubt ACE will have the studs you need. If you do not intend on using oem, why not just...
try googling "recoil 37100". This kit has metric thread inserts that will allow you to use the factory studs and nuts. Size is M10-1.25 and it states you can drill with 10.25mm or 13/32. This is the kit is used and it worked fine.
3p, thanks for the responses. The scope is a little beyond by abilities, have not used one since airplane mechanics school, many years ago.
I have Dale 3 ohm 50 watt aluminum heat-sink, 1% deviation resistors on the way. I was reading on toymods where a lot of the swap guys are building their...
I double checked the resistance of the resistor and got the same results, 2 legs @ 3.8 ohms and 1 @ 6.8 ohms. Would not the higher resistance be cause for lower current at the injector potentially causing it not to pulse properly?
I will search for a vac leak this evening.
I have a slight miss I have been trying to diagnose. All mods are in my sig. What I noticed is I can all but eliminate the miss by enrichening the a/f ratio to around 13 at idle with the vpc or the neo. So that lead me to think it is a fuel issue. Tested the solenoid resistor per the tsrm and...
I was initially considering a pioneer, but their screen quality was not getting good ratings. I ordered the jvc over the kenwood because it has a removeable sceen and the kenwood did not. Also learned that jvc and kenwood are the same company.
Well...got it off with the help of one of these http://www.harborfreight.com/14-and-38-drive-x-14-38-double-head-flex-ratchet-wrench-67994.html. worked brilliantly. I normally buy craftsman, but they did not have any in stock. I think the hf one may actually be better, due to its low profile...
Anyone have any tips on how to get this done, besides what jet jock provided here? http://www.mkiiitech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=814
I'm willing to buy the right tools to get the job done, if I do not have them.
I got 4 of 8 bolts out currently, using a different combination of tools...
Would you guys be willing to post up your hertz part numbers? And advise how the install went.
Also how would the speakers sound if only driven by the head units 20 watts rms?
Thanks in advance for the input?
thanks for the feed back.
Looking at: mainly want streaming bluetooth for Pandora, I don't use ipod.
Eclipse 7" AVN-726E DVD/Navi (used) seems they are a little behind the times but have excellent screen and audio quality

Ding, ding, ding we have a winner!! Stew and Dan were partially correct. The POS sony deck has an internal short in it that appears to have fried the tuner in it. Pulled it out and very little draw, plug the factory radio back and all is functional. I knew not cutting the factory connector off...
I in fact do have an aftermarket Sony deck. The plan is to pull that tonight to see if the draw is reduced. I am a little confused, as my '91 does not nor appear to ever had the amp under the seat. I thought all '91's came with it??
I eliminated the power antenna as the culprit last night, no...
