grim, if he is running radial tires with low air pressure it will cause the center of the tires to not make good contact. but like everyone is saying good tires and lsd.

check the timing and make sure the timing belt did not jump. glowing red exhaust is a timing issue. try moving the distributor also it won't fix it completely because your adjustment is limited but it may give you an idea of where to look.
