Resident newbie stupid question 3.
If a water pump goes bad, shouldn't the water be coming out of the little hole on top of it"
I apologize if this is stupid, but from what I remember about the old chevy / 60's cars, this was how you knew. I don't see any water coming from there, but it's...
lol, I'm assuming the hed job included a new filter, but with those guys, I dunno...

AhA!
Now this I think is what someone mentioned before. Is that something I can get quickly from dealer or from...
The oil sender is the goal, I have a replacement in hand.
A while back when I went in there to change the 90* hose another member suggested I fix something in there that leaks oil a bit, but I don't recall what it was, anyways, if anyone has any suggestions of things to do while I tear...
the wire comes out of the loom behind the power steering reservoir. I have spent 4 hours searching and looking at diagrams etc and I just can't find a picture of the oil sensor and the wire that attaches to it. Does anyone have a picture of this thing and the wires that are down there?
I am...
OK, I think I tracked the wire colors down to this being the oil sensor as I imagined it would be.
Can anyone tell me if this connects directly to the oil sensor, or is there a wire coming off the sensor that this attaches to?
I'm just trying to formulate a plan to get this re-attached, and...
AHA !
I finally found some stuff on it. It is something that releases a little bit of fuel vapor pressure?
Originally it has some type of air filter at one end, unfortunately my air filter portion is broken off, and it is also just hanging there. Does anyone know where it neds to be bolted...
ok, I give up, a search with "VSV" brought up no matches. Could someone shed a little light or point me in the right direction?
Sorry for being so ignorant, I'm just trying to make my car a little better...
I found this hanging on the motor below the intake stuff. Looks like some vacuum hoses hooked to something that also has an electrical connection to it. It also has a bracket with a bolt hole, giving me the impression it should be attached to something! It also looks like there is a broken...
Here is the loose connector I found that the mechanic didn't connect..
Is it the oil pressure sensor???
Wires are yellow, and one has a black stripe, two of them, the connector is gray, and looks to have a miniature orange colored seal like a mini o-ring or something.
I guess I should...
I keep my supra bone stock because I like it as a daily driver. Even though I just had to drop $3K into the bhg.
I got the car (91 turbo with 116,000 mi) about 3 years ago now for $4500 from the original owner.
Its super comfortable, i put a decent bluetooth radio in it, and it's just fast...
Aaron is about 2 hours away from me, I wish he was closer...
So anyways, here is the latest on my car. So I take it to the one guy I do trust to check out my rotors and front brakes as the car was shaking with high speed braking. We get it up on the lift, and I see an electrical connector...
I am going to change out the oil sensor myself, and I should be able to do most of the small projects myself too, such as an adjustment of something that I could do. Pulling a head etc. is a little beyond my desire or abilities at this point in time... I would like to keep it to the point of if...
So now that I've had my car back for a little while from the POS mech, I am finding other little things that never existed pre-mech. The scratched up fender where they leaned over the car, the gaping to the metal scrapes down along the base of the door, not to mention the oil sender that...
Say Nick, I'm not sure what you're saying here. What do you mean "oops"?
Perhaps you didn't understand my post. I said that when I brought the car in, the oil pressure worked. After they changed the head, it didn't when I got it back. They clain they were not the cause of the failure, and they...
