    Istrument cluster help?

The car did run without the turbo hoses. I did nothing but idle, but it did the trick. The test bulb did NOT light, indicating a faulty switch. I pressured it up as you described with air pressure, and got a consistent ohm reading of 48. My electrician friend told me a general rule of anything...

    Istrument cluster help?

Greetings again, One more stupid question. I searched the "book" and found out how to test the sending unit, but it requires the car to be running with a test bulb in line from the sender to the + side of the battery. When not running, the bulb should NOT be lit, when running, the bulb should...

    Istrument cluster help?

lol, hey mate, I had no idea all of this is in this "book", but I sure am glad you're helping me with it. I do have 12v at the sensor and I will do the grounding thing tomorrow. I'm a retired old fart, and I'm not quite as savvy as guys like you, but, with your help I'm able to do these things...

    Istrument cluster help?

Hi, My oil pressure gauge quit, so I'm assuming I have to pull the cluster? I have changed the sensor already, and have determined that wiring is sound. I have searched for about an hour now, and found very little. I was hoping somebody could enlighten me on how to proceed with replacing the...

    no oil pressure...still

Nice work Jet !! Thanks to your invaluable help, I have identified that I have about 12v at the iol pressure sensor with the key on. This confirms that the gauge is faulty. It worked when I took the car in to a repair shop for a head gasket job, and when I got it back, it didn't work. He...

    no oil pressure...still

Very nice thanks! Are all of those connectors on the firewall on the inside of the cabin, or in the engine bay? Sorry for stupid questions...:1zhelp: Also, with the multi-meter set on ohms, do i touch the red connection to the wire attached to the sensor, and the black to any ground? And...

    no oil pressure...still

well the second sensor was purchased from somebody in here, but I can't remember their name. I would love to test the continuety of the wire, but after deep study of the wiring diagram, I still have no idea where the "body block" is, or what pins are being used. All I could get from the diagram...

    no oil pressure...still

Whats a jdm sensor? Is the stock gauge hard to get to if I just want to replace it? Is that something that would be easy to get in the classifieds in here? It couldn't be any harder to get to than the sensor was, could it? egads!

    no oil pressure...still

So i replaced the sensor on the side of the block, which required quite the effort, put it all back together again, still the oil pressure guage is dead. Is there a fuse or something electrical? I am so frustrated I feel like driving it into the ocean! thanks for any help...

    heater core confusion

It's a very small amount, so I'm not sure how to tell if it's coolant or water. Now it's raining again, so I'll have to wait even longer to find out...

    heater core confusion

Well, it also rained for the first time in about a year, so maybe my targa top isn't sealing as well? I'll dry it out and see if it does it again after the rains. Here is Socal we don't get too much of that wet stuff that falls from the skies...

    heater core confusion

I saw a couple of lines of water leak this morning on passenger side carpet. One looked to be coming out from the plastic just in front of the door, and the other seemed to be coming from under the dash. I searched for heater core issues, but never really could find out for sure just exactly...

Changing water pump, and weirdness I need to know?

Hi gang, I have a weird water leak that I have to assume is the water pump, although I can't really see exactly where it's coming from. It seems to be coming from under the water pump so that is why I'm going with that. I got a used but theoretically perfect unit from a fellow in here for a...

Win one and lose one, plus a WTF?

I suppose if I go to the trouble of changing the gasket, I ought to just put a new pump on anyways... Maybe I'll have a better angle at that stupid oil sender from there....

Win one and lose one, plus a WTF?

Ya, I did have a wrench 14 mm claw (?) I think that's what it's called. It's like an open face with a square hole to insert the rachet extension. I just couldn't get enough muscle to it, even though I bumped it up to a 1/2 inch rachet. That sucka is tight! I guess when I tear into it again to...

Win one and lose one, plus a WTF?

From the top, I pulled the normal crap and tried to take out the oil sensor with a claw wrench, I had a long extension, but I couldn't unturn it for the life of me... So, I still have no oil pressure..:icon_evil FAIL But, while there, I did change out the CPS o-ring, and that was a win, it...

    Water pump Q's

Thats kind of what it looks like. Could that be a result of the BHG repairs done by my favorite f-mech?

Niiiice... Thanks Shaeff! I am deeply appreciating all the insight you guys bring to my table. Every time I can do something that the fmech doesn't have to, I am ahead in two ways at least. Again, thanks! Doug ---------- Post added at 06:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:43 PM...
