that is a shops cost, i was quoted 400.00 to convert mine, i do all my repairs but for the price included new parts/seals/evac old system, and refill.. r12 is really really REALLY expensive. trust me go w/ the conversion
freon is a gas, more than likely you have r12 wich is very expensive, your best bet is to do a retro kit to 134 a, new seal, ac drier etc.. probalby about 300.00 if done correctly. find a good ac shop in your area now before it gets warmer and they wannna charge you more to do it.
but you talk about drifting like it's the "baddest motorsport" out there.. well as far as i can tell it's a good "show" i really dont see it as a big turn out of a crowd as nascar (grantit i know were talking established years of MANY). I watch all racing. hell my tv dosnt leave the speed...

i have a set of euro manual folding mirrors, they are plug and play, heat and all works great, can NOT swap the glass on them to us spec glass they are shaped differently i was gonna but realised it wouldnt work, electric is nice.. but manuals still get attention with my buddies.

i corrected the issue, it was just odd there was a red/green wire there. the red/black that light up like a light since it gets cut i traced it to it's bllock at the fuse box and deleted it.
all is good now w/ the wiring and wired up only thing i did different was tapped the hot wire from...
