Or you can try, the next time you open the door and the dome light does not come on, give the dome light assembly a couple of thumps with your hand. Don't hit the switches. If the light comes on after a few raps.... it's the rivets.

It's a post telling him what the problem is, Rivets The fix has been covered many times. Some just punch the rivets, some rewire. Thus I gave him the search terms to learn from.
