Knock and knock retard is facilitated by the knock sensor signal feedback + ecu.

How can a software download to a typical handheld electronic device measure G forces accurately? You need an accelerometer to measure G forces accurately....
As for question #2, it's tough to estimate a hp expectation since you made no mention of turbo and induction system? If it's the stock turbo, then possible 300 - 320whp at about 16 - 18psi. Also, FYI the VPC will eschew the need for the FCD ;)

You're out of luck buddy :(. The MkIII's lack the required port for connecting this unit. The unit is compatible with OBD2 cars, more specially probably 2001 and later. The MkIII's are a "FEW" generations too early.
Congrats on the purchase Manny. I'll be keeping an eye on progress / status / performance accomplishments.
FYI, my AEM EMS have been in the closet for the last 3yrs waiting for to free up time to readdress the Supe rebuild. So, I'll be using you as inspiration etc.. Good luck bud..
