Replace the contacts for the solenoid, in the starter, or replace the starter. A strong battery may help it last a little longer, but its something that happens to all starters of that style.

Some guy? lol They are not hard to rebuild, its just that rebuilt ones dont last as long. You can rebuild it for $80, or you can get a new OEM one for $100. The new one has all new parts, you decide. And by OEM i mean ASIN brand, not that you have to buy it from toyota...

Why dont you inspect the bottom end? That would give a much better idea of its condition anyways.

Well to start narrowing down the possible failures. Have someone push on the brake pedal. Crack the rear brake line loose, at the master cyl. Keep loosening, until the pedal goes to the floor. Re-tighten. Keep moving down the line, to the rear calipers to find the issue. I bet its the MC...
