Let me just start by saying whatever idiot engineer decided the 7M motor need that damn plate was an f#%$ing moron. That thing is in the worst spot possible. Now that that's out, has anyone had to replace the gasket on this thing with the motor still in the car? I can barely see it on my motor...
Here is whats going on. On my 91 GTE motor, I have been playing with my electric fan relay for the past couple of days trying to get my fans to work again. I started up the engine to warm it up to make sure the fans come on, after thinking I fixed the problem. I then noticed there is a lot of...
I fount out it doesnt have a blend door actuator because i went to the dealership looking for it and the guy helping me said it doesnt have one. I also looked on Alldata and in the illustrations I noticed it has an air mix solenoid and some other solenoid.
My a/c works and the blower motor blows air out fine if I have it on high or medium. If I put the setting on low, the motor stops. Then if I turn the temperature up to try to get heat, the motor still blows air, but all the vents seem to be closed and if I try to select where the air blows out...
My brother and I were out driving my car today without the A/C on for the most part of the day. Towards the end of our driving we were on the freeway and after doing a hard pull, I noticed a burning smell. It smelled similar to hot electronics but as soon as we got off the freeway and stopped at...
The fan not operating will only prevent the A/C from getting cold when the car is sitting still. Other than that, the A/C should blow cold as long as the car is moving. It sounds like a leak in the system, but there is enough freon left so the cycle switch allows the compressor to kick on.
I ended making my own shroud and borrowing the fans off of my Chevelle's radiator. I bought a sheet of 20 gauge aluminum and had a local welding shop bend the edges and weld the corners. I then trimmed down the bent lip and then fitted some brackets so that the shroud bolts up to the stock...
That is kind of my reasoning for staying with the 7M. I cant deny that the 2J is a great motor, but I haven't seen anything with a built 7M and not only could I spend the money for the 2J swap instead on machine work for the 7M, but it will just plug right back in in its home.
I am wanting to build a motor to put into my 91 mkIII, but I dont know if it would be a better option to stay with the 7m motor or if I should swap to a 2j. I am wanting to land somewhere between 450 and 500 horsepower at the wheels, but still keep the engine mild when not in boost because the...
You have a few possibilities of problems that could be happening. Your system is not properly charged so the high and/or low pressure switch is not allowing the clutch to engage. You have a faulty high and/or low pressure switch, or an electrical problem somewhere in the wiring of the system...
Thanks guys. This may be on the wrong thread, but I finally got my car to start and it runs fine except for when I start it back up after I have already warmed the car to operating temperature. It has a very hard time idling properly and it jumps all over the place. Once I push on the...
On my 91 supra turbo, I am trying to find the fuel pump relay, but I do not know its location and the repair manual I have does not state where it is located at. Does anyone know?
Thanks. I couldn't find a pic of where it connected on the motor side. I couldn't tell if it went behind the a/c bracket or what but it looks like it does.
Would anyone be so kind as to post a pic of their lower alternator bracket on a 7M-GTE motor. The previous owner, or probably better put idiot, messed with the bracket and I think a piece is missing because the bracket is not lining up correctly, but I am unsure and can not find a good picture.
On mine, the previous owner took a lot of things off from the car, but here is what I had to remove and where. There is one bolt on each side behind the grilles, one on each side by the tires, and then along the bottom there should be a flat piece of steel with bolts running through it and then...
On my 91 supra, the headlight motors decided all of a sudden to stop working. Both sides of all things, although the lights themselves still turn on. I have checked voltage at the motors, and they do not get any power. I know there is the headlight retract control relay under the dash and the...
I just bought a 91 mkIII turbo last week and I am relatively new to supras. I have a noob question. I am wondering if the coolant temp sensor that is on the thermostat housing that looks to be vacuum controlled, can be converted to a standard electric temp sensor and also what that particular...
