a megasquirt is a standalone. you can hit 500 with a MAFT pro speed density setup but if you want more power than 500 you need a standalone and no the stock ecu cannot be tuned that's why we have piggy backs
you don't buy a used engine and just stick upgrades on it..
how can we know what the head or anything else will be like? we don't what what kind of abuse the engine has been through
I recomend save your money by rebuilding the one you have sitting there not buying a new motor and just sticking...
build the 7m you already have the motor
if you get a 1j you'll have to buy the motor first tear it down and then build it end up with the same hp rating but not the same amount of torque
there was a big thread about this piste last week in the general section caled "which engine?" check it out
none in the ic pipe checked that looked through the whole where the o2 sensor goes with a flash light didnt see any oil b ut that doesnt mean there isnt any i jjust got too lazy to take the dp off lol but ill check its under warranty so i get a free rebuild
so my car as you see in my recent threads was burning oil. it seems..from what I've watched..it does it sometimes on take off not very often, sometimes when I down shift like
going around a corner but when it really does it is on boost I would say 8psi or higher and when I let of the throttle...
but how many mk3s with a 7m like that do you hear of? not many I'm not saying they don't exist I'm saying their aren't as many so you don't hear of them as often as a 2j..
