How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

so, all mk3s have these regardless of carrier bearing type.. well, I guess all I can do is ask if anyone has a part number, otherwise it's off to bother Jeff Lange again haha.

How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

okay, that's what I was asking.. thank you for clearing that up. then again, I don't have these spacers you all are alluding to.. I wonder what that means, as I have never had them. nor are they pictured in the TSRM with the driveshaft style I have...

How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

yeah, I'm pretty sure those are the ones I have. TSRM pictures them under the carrier on the road side, I couldn't see mounting them any other way due to how large the carrier mounting holes are.

How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

pics of said washers? I only have two washers on each of the bolts holding the carrier bearing, and they are oriented on the road side of the bearing versus the body side.. Or am I missing something here?

Getting close to the actual swap! Few questions

I wouldn't go much over a 2800lb pressure plate, otherwise one runs the risk of crankwalk.. My Action 6-puck (sprung) with HD-PP(2800lb) is supposed to hold around 500ft.lbs, and the clutch is still rather streetable IMO. The equivalent ACT setup is the "HDG6."

    BigZavs T56 swap/Finishing my 1.5JZ project

that is true, but it doesn't have the same impact as seeing it complete, or in pieces for that matter.

    JZA70 service intervals

the service intervals are the same for the most part.. not sure on the hydro though, as I no longer have one. just follow the MA70 service info for the chassis and trans, and the JZA80 one for the motor (that's what I've done). There is this as well, but I'm not sure it's very pertinent to...

    Wanna go faster...

for a JDM motor, I will forever feel that the twins can give out at any moment (even though mine lasted a pretty good time on the 1J).. For $1500, single turbo setup/tune, and then cams when funds permit. there's a point here where you have decide what to tune with though, AFC band-aid tune, or...

Bigzavs painted his "dark gray mica pearl" and while it's noticeably darker, I think it looks amazing/similar.. you might wanna take a look if you haven't already. ---------- Post added at 11:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ---------- Dark Green Mica Metallic...

    spiller's JZA70 build-up

Looks like a lot of fun! My coils have been arcing for some time as well, and I've been lazy in regard to fixing them. Anyhow, one can shrink wrap the stalks, epoxy them, or a combination of the two(-what I plan to do), and the problem will likely disappear. Many have done this in the past and...

Coil overs too stiff? Less traction from a roll?

Np. The post above this one is also good advice in relation to spring rates, though I differ in that I feel a 12/8 setup is too light for the street. However, that has more to do with what ride height you're going for.

I swear to toyota i found supra heaven!

Indeed, there was a certain Aussie that seemed to add to the carnage on a daily basis.. Well, after a while he got old and decided to build a shed instead. Now, Matlock, fine cigars, raising wallabies, and sitting in rocking chairs, are his forte. Amazing how things change ;)

Coil overs too stiff? Less traction from a roll?

Well no one else seems to want to answer this, so I'll say it, I think those rates are too high for street use.. if you plan on track racing, those rates are damn near great though IMO. I run 14/10 Kei Office and it's pretty decent for the street, and the car is pretty low (not slammed). they...
