First five minutes uh? Do you think the smell has something to do with the Oxygen Sensor? Our ECU's don't even look at our O2 sensors until they are warmed up.
Air in system? Have you tried purging the air?
Run the car with the rad cap off and watch it for bubbling. As the car heats the level will come up a bit but then go down as the T-stat opens. Just watch your temp while doing this.
Also try testing for leaks, but you'll need a specialty tool to...
Maybe the heater circuit in the oxy sensor is shorted. So when it needs to heat the bimetal switch is on and the oxy sensor is actually shorted but when it gets hot the bimetal switch opens the circuit and it's all happy.
burning coolant. Keep an eye on it for a few days. It should clean up. Also I would suggest cleaning the whole engine bay (hosing it down and letting it dry). Ethynal Glycal (green coolant) is very corrosive and could cause havoc if left to sit on contacts.
My exhaust is already hung and has been for a long time. I did notice that too. especially with the slip on flangeless spring thing. You will want to assemble first.
