Junkyards are hit or miss. In CA there were supras in the yard all the time, in WI not so much.
When relocating the battery, you should mimic the stock setup. Just with longer cables. Two cables from the battery all the way to the motor. And a ground strap to the body.
Your way over-thinking this, just set it up like stock and youll be golden.

OP, are you trying to solve that slight miss, many 7m's have at idle?
#1 and 6 always spark together, so if 1 is missing so is 6. There is a lot of interference around the #1 lead, thats why i always used #6 for checking timing and such. I bet if you put a longer wire on #1, and moved...
