When relocating the battery, you should mimic the stock setup. Just with longer cables. Two cables from the battery all the way to the motor. And a ground strap to the body. Your way over-thinking this, just set it up like stock and youll be golden.

^What? OP, are you trying to solve that slight miss, many 7m's have at idle? #1 and 6 always spark together, so if 1 is missing so is 6. There is a lot of interference around the #1 lead, thats why i always used #6 for checking timing and such. I bet if you put a longer wire on #1, and moved...
