do i need to clean in between layers or just spray copper spray in between layers. or just leave it alone. i have already cleaned the surface to the metal just want to know if this is all i have to do.

also you need to put the crank on 0 then line up the cam marks to the marks on the cam cover. that will get your engine timed. then when you time the cps it should look like the pic i posted. you need to get it to this point first before you trouble shoot that way you will know that every thing...
looks like on #5 the copper water seals on the gasket could have been leakin on the exaust side. also check your raidiator for blockages. a bhg can make a lot of trash and gook get in there. also looks like you have some excess oil in #5 too. could be bad rings
