I have full hardpipes (Cooleeze) and Fully Elbow back 3" exhaust.
The car runs very well. Engine is so smooth that you can have beer bottles on top while its running. lol

Im lucky i guess. My car was all original stock well taken care of. Except the bastard that overtightened the targa. It leaks like a siv because its a bit mis-shapened. I cant afford another top with paint right now.

keep in mind sometimes they dont tell you. There are 2 gasket kits from toyota. A full rebuild one and a headgasket top talf one. If your doing the full motor get the full motor one. It just has the extra seals, etc for the block. If you dont get the full kit youll be ordering them...
If you are definetly going to take the step of doing a tune, then get everything hooked up, make sure that everything is set to 0 or whatever (no changes). until you get a wideband don't change anything. Without the A/F ratio you can't see whats going on. But you can get all the devices...
I replaced those when i rebuilt the motor. Mine were falling apart as well. Now the steering is stiff and feels so much better turning. It just feels better. Elminates the play like you said. I don't know how youd get it done with the engine in the car though. It might not be possible
When I worked at a GM dealer it was when the chev malibu came out.... Well I spent my days helping replace pistons in brand new motors. That and valve trains (rollers, etc). Yeah they suck.

I research a lot on here. I have a very limited number of threads. The search works 99 times out of 100 for me. Browsing through the faqs gets answers too. A lot of the threads that are made day to day are un nessecary in my opinion.
