I think what poodles is saying is that the upper join is worn out. And to clairify, ANY non-load bearing ball join must have ZERO play. What the OP did sounds like it has play.
thats cause the ball joint is spinning inside. you need to get something to hold it in place like vicse grips but dont damaged the boot or youll have to replace it.
Im sorry but someone has to say this. You keep making posts for peoples opinoins on how to fix the tear in the door. You posted this a couple of times last year. Either fix it, or dont, spend money or dont. Welcome to having an old car, that parts arn't avilible. YEs you manitained it pefrect...
M5 8mm head like all current toyota radios. Not uncommon. I replace radios all the time at the dealer i never use the phillips as theyre too tigh and strip for it. Always use th 8MM
Are you sure its not the little 90 degree hose behind the water pump housing? That hose is comon and in the same location. Also put a pressure tester on it, youll find it easy that way.
You never crack head bolts to retorque them. If you do youve just created more problems.
To the OP. Just torque the bolts down in order as if your putting them in for the first time. 18flbs 1st pass, 36 2nd pass, 54 3rd pass, and 72 on the final pass. This will tell you if any of them were loose.
"5 sweep R-134" I think you mean 5 speed R154, R-134 is A/C refrigerent. Also there should be plenty of information on here on what youll need for parts.
