Just farting around with the Ge motor. Seeing what I can do here and there, I believe intake will be the last modification I do that's not compatible to a 1JZ swap. My stock acordian hose is on it's last leg and I have three cone filters sitting around my garage. I figured I could just fab...
Hello,
basically fabricating a low budget intake system for the ol GE motor. I quickly realized if you remove the air box and install an open cone filter, you will loose two of the mounting locations to suspend the intake properly. Your only left with the bracket that attaches to the AFM...
I kinda went that route and slowly wish I had just gotton a 1JZ instead.
I had BHG and needed a tune up, along with some maintanance. I ran the cost of rebuilding/milling my original head and it outweighed the cost of ordering a remanufacturered head. I paid $475(includes tax n shipping)...
HAHAHA! i did screw up and use 240 grit on my sander and took some portions down to metal. Not much, but enough to aggrivate me to do extra work now. I got a lot of paint dust from sanding in the air real fast before i realized, "I'm not wearing my mask right now?"...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't larger injectors not have anything to do with pushing more fuel? You would need other supporting mods to get there, 440cc's is just refering to the maximum amount of fuel you can acheive from them?
Alright Seriously? The time I did my install I read several complete rebuilds on the SM forums. The one I followed seemed to be the most technical and detailed out of them all and also coincided with most other's rebuilds. This is why I went with 83lbs on the Bolts. Personally, I have had...
Well crap, I used head bolts(ARP) and torqued them to 83lbs. Should i pop open my valve covers and redo them at 75lbs? Car hasn't really been run much at all only cranked up a few times here and there to move it and tune it.
Got a friend with a GT35R in his Evo, stroked to 2.3 dyno'd 422awhp(19psi). Kinda hoping to kick his @ss on a highway pull(one day). His car lags through first gear and somewhat in second, even with the stroker, it's still a four banger. The GT35R crossed my mind because I am curious to see...
Sounds like work, does it even seem like a worthy conversion to anyone? Or should I look into an alternative TT, maybe even single turbo setup to reach the power band I desire?
Is it possible to run the Ct20a's on the 1JZ? I'm currently researching a 1JZ swap into my MKIII, for some odd reason I'm obssessed with using twin's vs. going to a single turbo for power. My long term goal is dependable low 400rwhp range.
I personally like the SC model, a friend of mine has shop in town and has a few of them pumping out 400-600 at the rear wheels. Impressive when tuned properly. One with 200K is only going to lead to problems if you ask me.
Now I have heard of GE cams increasing performance in the GTE motors. I don't see the logic in how GTE cams will make a GE function better. Does anyone have a dyno sheet of GTE cams in a GE that can post up?
Okay I've read that before too you jump T1 and E1 and adjust the timing. In my case, the timing is exactly the same BOTH times. With T1 and E1 connected and with the jumper off also. So is something going wrong or could I be doing something wrong?
I was born in Frankfurt, Germany. My father was military(puerto rican by blood) and my mother german. I grew up learning the slang butchered version of English(what we american's speak now). Took mandatory English in school in germany. I only got a "B" due to my american ways. My teacher...
