A got a nearly perfect AFR tune with the regular SAFC.
Supraboy, do you have a walbro fuel pump?
Usually you will run very rich at high RPM's with the 550/lexafm with no AFR tuning. You would be amaised how the rich AFR's will kill your topend power.
Get a wideband or a tune. And don't...
Remember, all Mustang dynos do not read equally lower. The Mustang dyno that I used was also a heartbreaker that consistantly read 14-16% low.
With a standalone ECU and cams, Tekdeus's car will really wake up like mine did. When I had a stock head with stock ECU, I hit about 500rwhp sae...
Good question on what's the proper air/fuel mixture when using a water/methonal mix. I have heard all kinds of answers. Some say high 10's while I have heard others say in the 13's.
I'm pretty sure you should use about a 70/30 mix to get a 50/50 mix by volume of methonal to water.
For 430-470rwhp, I definantly would not go standalone. No need to complicate thinngs for that power level.
Your setup is almost identical to what mine was with a bolt-on SP61GT. One thing I did have to use to eliminate fuel-cut was an HKS FCD. I could not run much past 20psi with out it. With...
The aluminum flywheel won't really affect your launch. I went from a steel flywheel to an aluminum and it really took no time to adapt to it.
I tried launching one time so far with my 2 step and it bogged like crazy. Think I need to raise it up a lot, but either way I prefer launching the...
I never even knew the VPC had that lean condition. Glad I went with the AEM... Sort of.
Sean you think 6700rpm's is bad, my 92 ECU cut the revs at 6200rpm. I would constantly be banging of the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear.
"I had a Feramic clutch and welded it 3 Times to my Fidanza flywheel I had! I'll never go to another feramic clutch again. "
I welded my Bronse to my Fidanza flywheel also not to long after it was installed. I'm surprised you let it happen 3 times. I got rid of my Aluminum flywheel right...
When my HPF Bronse wears out, I'm probably going to switch to the the Feramic disc (while keeping my ACT pressure plate). A friend of mine has the Feramic and it's a good bit smoother than my Bronse. And it should hold even more power.
And for the record, I had a Spec2 clutch before and I...
The best option cost-wise for us out there might be the HPF feramic. I Know a guy who was running high 9's with the HPF feramic on his MK4. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison, but still impressive.
Good info. Just for comparison, my GT35R(.68) made 15psi at 3400rpm in 4th gear (with a big ex manifold leak).
And yes 650rwhp with the right supporting mods is doable with that turbo.
"So are all gt35 turbos this hard to fit or just because your useing a spool valve."
There is hardly any space between the compressor housing and the turbine housing (at least on the Precision GT35), and with the right(wrong) manifold, it can be very hard.
OMG, I feel your pain with that oil return liine. I have the same manifold and GT35R turbo and I tried for days to come up with an idea of how to route it. I gave up and installed the old HKS long runner manifold and the routing was a little easier.
