Yes the R154 spline has more teeth than a W58. heres a simple thing to help you, the clutch alignment tool that you use to align the clutch, SHOULD fit into the splined yoke of the shaft. thats how i found out if it was R154 or not, because the alignment tool does not perfectly fit into the...
sheesh how do you do all of this work?!? it turns out real nice man good luck on the build, i really look forward to seeing all of this completed, BTW that transmission looks new after the new bushings and stuff have been cleaned up!
As far as i know, that is a W58 driveshaft for all mk3 supras regardless of the year. as long as the short shaft looks just like a straight shaft without any other shape to it then its a w58 shaft
It is the one with part number 43212C (Cap that goes on the stopper bolt)
But as for an update on my current issue, I lifted the car up on jackstands currently and the driver wheel bearing is shot (makes grinding noise without brake pads on) and the
driver caliper is locking up after a long...
Would that cause the repetitive "thud" noise when the vehicle is making a full right turn? its feels like the right wheel is loose and is wanting to come off from the stud as i can describe it, if i can take a video i will definitely do so.
Hey guys, lately ive noticed whenever i am turning a full right, the suspension/steering makes a loud thud-like noise that i could feel on the floorboard but when turning full left there is nothing i can hear and feel. What should i be looking for under the car? I feel that the problem is coming...

New clutch hardware installed, my custom made brass bushing for the shifter socket was only $5 with minor modifications saved me from buying a $40 drop in kit from a vendor on...
They had clear door light covers? Last time i saw an 86.5 they had the red covers like all mk3's had, is it just me or have i not seen a clear courtesy light cover yet?
head gaskets dont seal well in the cold?? lol to me that would sound suspicous...
although i did read a few engines (non supra AFAIK) would blow a head gasket if started up in the cold and stomped on the accelerator pedal for a long period of time..
No oil in water, the reservoir never goes past the full mark always plays below there, its just i keep adding at least 1/8 cup of water into the "tee adapter" i installed by the heater valve since thats the highest place to add coolant in the system currently. As if i dont add coolant, i would...
Will do a thorough check hopefully on saturday or so after the schedule gets freed up. Hopefully its just a cracked softline or a loose clamp, id rather not deal with anything serious right now
Jetjock - if there was a leak in the fuel system wouldnt that mean i would smell the fuel odor almost always (most of the time) ? I only do stumble across the odor once in a while, regardless of my driving patterns and whatnot
EDIT: Charcoal canister seems to be installed correctly no hoses that are loose, fuel rail area has no gas odor, it seems to be coming from under the car around the door/ fender area but no leaks are present, im stumped
So a couple months ago i did a head gasket change on my Supra, did the typical runthough of the vacuum hoses and EGR stuff to make sure nothing was not installed, and i also got the new crush washers for the fuel banjo bolt that goes on the rail, no leaking fuel anywhere, but once in a while i...
i notice the coolant reservoir would change levels but never past the FULL mark on the tank, its just weird that it barely sucks it back into the radiator after cooling down. before my water pump i would only add about a small capful of water to the small tee adapter i had by the heater valve...
trust me the water pump was the problem, i took the old pump off and the thing where the fan belt goes on was wobbling like a mother***** and when i replaced the pump it was idling perfectly, the heater valve is bypassed so i know thats not a problem.
i will check those two hoses, AFAIK before my water pump went out my cooling system was fine i never had to do anything to it. then this happened.. As well as the heater core, there wasnt any wet spots, smell of antifreeze, or fogging up windshield
