I'm not a fan of the brown interiors...but damn, those seats look fresh!! very, very nice find, looks to be in great condition. must have spent a lot of it's life in a garage.
someone did a good job on those sawblades too.
welcome back!
+1
an accusump will prime the engine before you start it each time, which will eliminate what you are hearing...but IMO, what you are hearing is normal unless it is very loud and last longer than 1-2 seconds. the engine needs a second to get oil flowing throughout it, and it might sound...
Order them from Jeff Watson at Champion Toyota. Bets prices we can get for OEM stuff. I think both gaskets were $30 when I got them? Not too sure.
Yea, pulling the plugs is a good temporary fix if you need to drive it. I pulled my spare tire too, to let any leaking water flow right out...
everything I have purchased from Jeff has been a lot cheaper than what I have expected...door lock bezels, 1JZ timing belt components and oil seals, coolant hoses and thermo's, shift boot, all kinds of goodies.
I think that calling directly and saying your a SM member gets you a better rate...
if the flywheel is still on, you can use a big flat-head and lock it between a tooth on the flywheel and the stand.
there are also some specialty tools that will lock the flywheel into place...the one I have seen/used was a handheld tool that you hold to lock it in, but I can't find it online...
that wiring shit be dis yo :sarcasm:: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78225&highlight=12+volt
but your still on the stock fuel pump right? then no need for 12 volt mod from what I understand..
maybe try checking it when it is dead cold, on a level surface.
I don't think it is an issue to be a little over-filled, most people run 1 quart (or liter) over the full mark for assurance reasons.
i think 4.8 liters is the correct amount. you sure that is the correct dipstick? mine looks...
the 1JZ is an excellent engine, and your supra would be a blast to drive especially compared to the 7mge.
but you may be in for a lot of work just to have a turbo if needed...
a clip is a great place to start, but there will still be a lot of other items to deal with such as the harness, r154...
an emissions tester can't just let you through. the test has to be done one way or the other, by running a different car, or pulling your timing way back and hoping it passes.
but the tester can get in a lot of trouble, have to pay fines, and lose their certification if they get caught...
