Good and bad. Stay with the torque happy 7m. But a GT42 turbo :aigo::aigo:, are you ready to try and control that? Also you know what else is needed just to get that thing to make boost??? It is called nothing till 4500 rpms.
But 1jz has also proved it self to make some good torque #'s...
Well from the pics I see on eGay it look to fit 100% better then the old ones. Like I always say " I do it nice, because I do it twice", lol. How about you be the guinea pig, buy it, and let us all know how it fits ;)
First, and for most, you have to trust the machine shop and what they are doing well before the cost comes into play. Talk to others that have had the shop work on there engines. Check there references.
To answer your question, my bottom end cost me IIRC $860 and the head was (730+40) $770...
Just pick a used compressor w/clutch from some one parting a sup.;) Install new orings for the lines from toyota, put a vac. to the system then fill her back up and hope for the best.
R12 sounds spendy. Go with 134, that is what I have on my 100% oem system and works great. But it is...
Did you log your A/F ? It only takes a split second. I doubt what ever gauge you have can display it that fast. Also has you A/F gauge been calbrated on the dyno? I know when we were at DB with Dan's 2 jz his was reading over 2 pts. off at first ;) His would be reading 14 ish on idle and...
using 2 qts. every 2 miles, OMG I have never heard of such a thing, when it is not leaking on the ground. Oil rings or valve seals must be pretty much gone, unless there is hole in the cyl. Sounds like time for a rebuild or bump up the GTE swap a few months.
Do you have direct port sand injection? jk, Im with Sean here looks like you were running pretty lean Some time in there. To much boost and not enough fuel./ Sucks to read and see men .
No need for all the extra fuel and what not for 300 ;) Many members are just running higher boost on the ct-26, intake and 3" exhaust/dp and are making 300+ on stock fuel / clutch. Kind of like me. If anything I need to take fuel OUT. Im running under 10 as soon as I see boost.
