Well just been watching videos of people tig welding thinking about my credit card and the affordable miller diversion 165 and I just ordered one. :biglaugh:
My love of fabricating and available credit pretty much took over once I started to think about it. Hopefully I'll have it by the end...
Thanks man!
Before Cobra Brakes
After Cobra Brakes
Stock Rotor Compared to Cobra rotor
Extremely happy with the upgrade.
Thanks to Zumtizzle and Grimsta!
What are some good TIG machines. I have been looking and am on the fence of splurging for one. Looking into the Miller Diversion 165 and Hobart Tigmate. What a good entry level cost effective unit?
Had a little fun yesterday. Took off the ET streets and put on the other two Cobra wheels with street tires.
Also recently installed Dowards Cobra front brake kit and ill throw some pictures of that up later.
New HDR! You can kinda see the brake kit behind the wheel.
The Cobra brakes made...
Yea i would assume as most triggers are set with a specified initial timing. The 8860 has a selection for initial timing that way it knows when TDC is and bases the timing maps on that.
At higher boost levels the stock coils have a hard time sending enough voltage to the spark plug to create a spark because of a few reasons. The stock coils are old, they are used in wastespark so there lighting two plugs per fire an are also firing twice as often as a single coil per plug...
Well that point (hood to windshield) is a high pressure point at speed and will be an air intake rather then exhaust. Also water when you wash your car or drive in the rain. When i removed the rear weather striping at the rear of the hood, after washing my car water would fill the plug valley of...
I wired my starter bypassing the neutral safety switch just to get my car going. I ran the wire from the dash harness where the stock TCCS is threw the firewall to the starter wire.
Eventually im going to integrate the wire threw the neutral safety switch as its only a few inches away from the...
Im having the same dilemma right now. Well, not the unemployed thing, but the "where the f*** can i put these coils" Problem.
Im thinking since i want a FFIM anyway, ill just wait till then so i dont have to make 2 sets of spark plug wires and trigger harnesses.
Cant say much about a 2JZ specifically other then whats working on my 7M.
Im currently running a 3000GT 3 channel ignitor and 7M GTE coil packs. Im planning on running no ignitor and LSX coils in the future as there a hotter coil and have built in ignitors.
If you already have the 2JZ stuff i...
I wish i could use a TIG unfortunately its not a possibility. The cost for the machine while is a very good investment is just too far out of my price range. I do plan on eventually getting one at some point though.
Any pics of your work?
Thanks again,
Dan

Not cheap enough to call scrap. But nice materials.
IM materials? Still a novice so I don't quite know the terms yet. If you mean the wire it's either .030 or .035 inch depending on what you buy. At least for the spool gun I'm looking at.
Its relatively thick pipe, just a blow off valve port so i wasnt trying to kill it.
22GA Sheet steel on the top/bottom of the catch can i made, Doesnt leak! The pipe handles the heat much better i guess.
Its not the best welds in the world but im still learning and having fun making my own...
