The wells for the back speakers are so small you can't fit anything worthwhile in there anyway. Get and enclosure and mount a sub in the back and mids and tweeters in the doors. Add a couple of amps, 1 channel for the sub and 2 channel for the front speakers, dial in the electronic crossovers...
The reason is you will screw your clearance's all up. Once the grease melts off of the back of the bearing you'll have waaay to much clearance. Won't be good.
I don't think the color variance would be that dramatic or "look like shit". But I will ask my powder coat/anodize guy Monday and get a definite answer.
Anodizing would almost certainly be a better proposition in terms of not collecting or insulating heat as well as durability.
I like black sawblades as well.
That wing looks so much lower in the picture of the white supra, must be the angle.
So, if im reading this right it was a 1-off deal...correct?
People sure love to jump on this one. Truth is...people have been doing this for years with domestic cars. But if you say you cut your springs all the "parts queens" are gonna call you names and curse you and your car. They want to look good for the other "parts queens". Hell.. sometimes I...
Scrounged it from a wrecked BMW rally car (mid 80's I think).
Fabbed an adaptor because I knew there would be 0 chance of one existing.
Best part is it cost me nothing and it feels great, and not very likely to see another Supra with the same wheel.
I don't know who makes it but it looks great.
In fact I like it better than the OEM spoiler (said while dousing self in flame retardent).
I think you may be right about it coming from some other car, it looks like the mounts are notched to fit over the end of the hatch, probably necessary...
Looks good. More do-able than I would have imagined.
Couple of questions:
What do you plan to do with the wiring loom from the body to the door?
How well do the doors line-up when closed?
Who makes the kit and where'd you buy it?
Good work so far.
Not a racist? Yeah...and Rudolf's not a reindeer...right?
Tacky but funny? You have grossly underestimated the offensiveness of your extremely insensitive and hateful comment. What was your intention and do you think it's ok to objectify a whole race of people in writing on a public forum to...
Yeah if it were a Z32 it would be a tough call.
The twin turbo is a ballsy car that pulls like a mule from idle on up and handles great, with a tendency towards oversteer, which is almost unheard of in most cars, which I happen to love.
Years ago we had one in the body shop I worked at...
If you are paying someone else to do the work, and we are talking about a true "ground up" restoration (i.e. complete disassembly, R&Ring everything that isn't replaced, and using as many new OEM parts as possible) and no shortcuts. I would say $50k might not even do it. Not to mention minimum...
Can someone explain the "streched tire" thing to me? I know what it is, but what's the attraction?
It looks kinda dangerous, like the bead might pop off the rim. Kinda reminds me of the old school low riders with Krager 5 spokes and skinny tires.
I'm not trying to be an ass, I just don't...
Also, when the pins, bushings and sliders get worn out you're likely to hear a rattle sound over small bumps at low speed and a "crunching" sound when you apply the brakes. If you don't know what your listening for it can sound like bad steering or suspension componenets.
I really don't have anything to add to the suggestions already made, but I had to say:
I love to see people do "out of the box" stuff and break from the norm around here. It's even better when you utilize what you've got lying around (or can scrounge up for cheap or free). Somtimes you have...
That's the best thing you could have said as far as I'm concerned.
I'm going to start my (latest) build soon, and if this is true, and more stuff gets released on to the market for the MkIII, I promise I will seek you out first for the parts (cross my heart & hope to die). Titan is good...
