I believe it's supposed to be 20-21psi at idle and as momentarily high as 25-26psi upon deceleration. There is a link about vacuum readings and how to diagnose with them on supracentrals sig.
It doesn't hurt anything to swap something out just to make sure...nor does it make you a monkey. As stated, it's not impossible to miss some parameter that might reveal a flaw in any given sensor.
Even the TSRM suggests swapping some electronics (ecm for example) with a known working unit.
I've heard my fair share of noisy lifters but my Supra just developed a sound from (it seems like) under the cam cover at the back of the motor.
It doesn't sound like a normal lifter that's gone out of spec though, it sounds more hollow, kind of like the click people make by clucking their...
Thanks jdub, I was just checking back to see if anyone posted a pic...you saved me from going out in the heat to snap one, I owe you.:icon_bigg
Oh...you guys probably know this but Bosch batteries suck (at least mine does). I bought their "platinum" and as I understood/was told, it was their...
I'm willing to bet you got all over-eager and assembled the engine too hastily without using plasti-gauge to check clearances or carefully inspecting each part prior to assembly. Haste makes rod-knock my friend.
Also, not using assembly lube is a huge no-no. As previously stated oil will not...
Although I've had sensors that checked out ok but had intermittent problems that didn't show up under the test parameters.
When in doubt...swap it out.
I've seen big chunks of goo/schmutz collect behind those drain plugs. You might want to consider doing whatever it takes to get it off and see what lurks behind it.
I sure see a lot of batteries fail at the track, hot or cold.
I think it's from doing just what 808mkiiisupra is thinking about doing... i.e. running an undersized/low cca battery to save space and/or weight.
Exactly the same transmission with the exception of the clutch packs, and frankly I have gone through a few a340e's and I don't see much difference in performance/reliability between the turbo or n/a versions. They're both easy to fry (in stock form) if you are putting down any kind of power...
I just think it would look cleaner without it, but after listening to you guys saying that:
A) you think it looks ok
B) I might have a problem making it look right by patching it
C) it might mess up the structural integrity
...I'm starting to reconsider removing it.
Yeah it's a power roof... here's a couple of pics. As I said I resealed it and fixed the mechanical components. I just hate the way it looks and they do make wind noise even with a good seal. Also I think it fucks up the lines of the hard-top roof.
I think cutting it at the pillars is...
