    #1 killer of autos is heat. Get a nice big transmission cooler and you'll be fine. Combine a big transmission cooler with the accumulator shim mod and you'll have a nice long lasting auto :D

    If it's in perfect condition other than the engine, just fix the HG and enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with auto.

    I think the reason you get a power gain by removing A/C and P/S is because there's less weight on the crank pulley (this concept is similar to a lightweight flywheel or lightweight d/s. It's not a gain of power, but it's just easier to move and therefore you free up some power), but it's...

    You're doing a full rebuild right? If you are, I'd just go MHG. If you're just changing the HG then go composite. Composite HGs are ok if you're not making tons of power and they're torqued down.

    Premium is usually around 3.30-3.40, but I put in Regular since I'm N/A, and it costs me around 3 bucks :D
