How did I miss this thread til now??? (rhetorical...don't pm me and tell me..."because you're stupid")
I wish I would have seen this earlier. I could have cleared up some of his confusion with regard to this matters inevitable outcome. i.e. Once a sentence has been imposed by a court, the...
Well said. Probably the only unarguable fact in this incident.
I think one thing people have to try to understand is that cops are trained to never let their guard down while on duty. From the first day at the academy, til the day you retire, you are constantly reminded that getting too...
Corrected:
You're right...since he clearly had no probable cause (based on the fact that there was no arrest, and presumably no on-going investigation). Sounds like harassment under color of authority to me.
Really?
How long were you a cop?
I was an LAPD peace officer for 12 years, and I...
You gonna let some electrical bug beat you?
It might be a character flaw, but I'm just insecure enough that I couldn't let that happen, but good luck with the MkIV.
Must be the season. The front portion of mine folded under on the freeway and was making a terrible wooshing sound. I swear to god it sounded like a jet taking off. I thought something had really blown to shit under the hood, scared the shit out of me. I was relieved to see it was only the...
I'm willing to bet it is an n/a, but I get the feeling it's probably pretty clean in and out.
To "Hey Look At Me!" for my tastes, but the paint is kinda interesting. More fast and furious than low-rider.
Yeah, no file for me, I am not feeling lucky...
Thanks for the point in the right direction.
I'm ordering the lapping plate and paste tonight, but I was wondering what size of lapping plate I should order (obviously smaller is better on the bank card, but there is no use on getting one...
Wax is old/low tech, wears off, and doesn't protect your paint or provide the best shine. What you want is paint sealant.

I gotta look into getting one of those..:icon_bigg. I don't recall ever seeing one for sale from the usual tool sources. The search begins...hmmm.
Are you doing it by hand or with pneumatic sander maybe....I'd be to afraid of messing it up with anything but by hand, although I've seen some guys that were pretty damn good with a sander.
What are you using as a sanding block? (As I recall you have access to some pretty good machinery.)...
I'm in the process of lapping the block by hand. It's flat with no measurable low spots, but I'm going for as close to mirror finish as I can get being careful not to create any low-spots.
I took the stopper out of the plastic, and lo and behold...it does have viton on it. Still haven't...
Where are the dingo-balls...and the little doggy that sits in the back with the head that goes up and down?
(war plays in the background...Cisco Kid was a friend of mine...)
What were you using to lap the block? Did you do it with the block out of the car?
I hear the small Sonic lapping tool is fairly easy to use and produces a good result.
I've done it with a thick piece of glass as a sanding block, and a combination of emery and polishing compounds, worked...
I thought I explained it pretty well. Read it again.
If you have ever driven a bored and stroked motor with a big cam and high compression you would know...they're temperamental and generally ill-mannered for daily use.
You'll wish plumbing were all you had to worry about.
I'm not trying to...
I can appreciate your wanting to build a high hp n/a engine, but it's never really been successfully done (to my knowledge) and here's why:
A 7m will never be capable of high rev's for any length of time with any reliability or driveability, so that's out.
A 7m is not a very good candidate for...
