My goal? Making it the perfect cruising car with a great suspension. I want the interior to be quiet (I might get good sound deadening material), I want the stereo system to be great, I want the A/C to actually work (haha), and I want the car to handle good and still be comfortable, and I don't...
Well, tire pressure matters if you haven't checked that (should be around 32ish) and driver matters the most. Whether it be heavy on the throttle at times, or driving with the A/C on blast, or the windows down at highway speeds, it's something. If not, just do a tune-up...
Ok I cleaned the thread up so it could talk about the original topic and not where the thread belongs.
The thread was originally in OTF, then I stupidly moved it to OC, then I moved it to general, where it actually belongs. The point is, it doesn't belong in OTF. Now let's get on with the thread.
If everyone doesn't want to spend much but wants an improvement over the stock manifold, how about doing something simple like getting the stock 7M n/a manifold, making the "primaries bigger", and changing up the downpipe/collector design, and making it out of material like steel/stainless...
Here's a list of lowering spring rates that have been found over the net. I recently found out the rates of the Stock MKIII Pre-89s and the Whiteline Springs, so I've added them here along with the other list. I'll try to find out the spring rates from various companies in the future. I got the...
Oval vs Round is for fitment issues. The oval will sound the same as the round one, but quieter since it has more packing into it.
The only other reason to decide Oval vs Round is if it's on the back of your car and you're going for a certain look, but IMO it's really up to fitment anywhere...
Well I remember back in the day that one of the cheapest "upgrades" you could do was switch to the stock turbo exhaust, but that's only cause it could have been gotten for free (turbo guys usually don't keep the stock exhaust), but the thing is, it's still pretty bad because it's crushbent, etc...
If anyone was wondering, I did measurements in multiple areas of my old stock exhaust. Maximum outer diameter was 2.18 inches. There is no way in hell it's 2.5 inches stock unless you have a freak exhaust :)
Either way, 2.18 maximum outer diameter is terrible, cause you introduce the fact...
If anyone was interested, I read on some website that had a list of all the lowering spring spring rates say that the 89+ springs are 16% stiffer and slightly lower than the pre-89 ones.
