I used the driftmotion kit stated above which worked well for me. Don't use the head gasket or cork oil pan gasket as driftmotion noted. You can buy an OEM head gasket from driftmotion and use the tube of FIPG which they throw in with the kit for the oil pan and its needed for the front of the...
So my car was blowing smoke on start up and after replacing the valve seals it completely fixed the problem. I have been driving the car for a few months now with no smoke and when I started it up today I noticed its starting to blow smoke again.
While replacing the seals a few months back I...
You will not get a ton of power out of the car without a metal head gasket period. And I wouldn't take the chance of putting in a metal head gasket without the proper block and head resurfacing. If you don't want to do all that get a stock head gasket from driftmotion and a set of arp head...
Go to this link and follow the steps...its a nice write up. This also assumes you are not removing the head.

I know thats it' normal to have a little oil in the intercooler pipes......as far as the valve seals go.....no you would have to remove the valve covers cam shafts, buckets/shims, valve keepers/retainers and valve springs....then you would be able to see the valve seals. So it's quite a process...
Yea I think you are right about it being the turbo. If it were the valve seals it would some when its cold on start up. Did you pull off the turbo elbow to see if you see any oil inside? Also, I have heard good things about Alberts rebuilds. Another option people go is sending your ct-26 to...
I just got done replacing my valve seals with the head on.....here is the thread I started..."Valve seal replacement without removing the head." This may help you out. Buying the valve keeper and removal tool will make the job much easier and I wouldnt do the job without it. Valve stem seal...
I finally got around to checking my timing and it seems to be at 10 degrees which I believe is where I want it to be. I did notice the timing very slightly before 10 then right at 10 then sometimes a hair after 10.....should it fluctuate slightly like this?
Car is not cranking at all....just rapid clicking....all the dash lights in the car come on and my battery charger shows the battery is charged. I am going to pull the battery out of my Acura just to see if it will turn over. In the past when I have had starting issues and I have heard the...
Just finished replacing all the valve seals so I will begin putting everything back together tomorrow. During the process I dropped a keeper between the exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold heat shield. I almost soiled myself but removed the heat shield and was able to get it back. After...
I just did the EF and ER valve seals on cylinder #6 and put the keepers/retainers back in.......when I go to put the shims/buckets back on both are giving me some resistance......I could probably tap them on with a small hammer and protect it with some tape...should these slide on...
yea I just picked up a pair of needle nose and things are going much smoother......1st cylinder is done and the rope is out. I hope to finish the valve seal replacement today or tomorrow.
two questions....im guessing the springs are not directional?......Also im having a hell of a time removing the valve stems.....I tried for like 15 min with my valve stem plyers but no luck. They just slip off the metal casing. I also have a pair of needle nose vice grips but they cant fit...
One valve seal replaced....23 to go......I hope to hell my rope doesn't tangle on the way out. Also, I noticed a really tiny/thin seal on the underside of the retainer when I pulled it....it was like paper thin.....is that normal?
Also it was a pain in the ass getting the valve seal...
