IJ., did you ever remotely close it before turning off the engine, then open it before starting? I'm assuming that's how the engine gets pre-oiled before starting

It's actually a Celica GT-S wheel, but they used the same one in the Matrix, Corolla, Celica, MR-2, and RAV4 I believe. Probably Camry too.
Also, usually people do the opposite setup; 2JZ block, 1JZ head. The 1J has bigger intake valves and the 2J has bigger exhaust valves IIRC. Not a huge difference either way
