I contacted my toyota dealership and the lady said " Oh well there are so many harnesses that I need the part number or we'll never figure it out" haha wtf... So appearently I need the part number for a 92 main engine harness( turbo)
:1zhelp:
Well, I can't find the part number for the ecu anywhere... So, I'm not sure if it is or not. When i look through the parts catalog, I get nothing... anywho, yes it is gray plug. Thanks alot man. I will contact champion toyota and get the total for the harness.
Thanks for moving it.... Damn.... Didn't want to have to spend 600+ on a new harness... I'm already broke and relying on this for a dd. Haha, oh well shit happens. I've been searching and have come a little closer, but wouldn't mind rewiring it, I have alot of patience.
1. the colored plugs are both gray, both the same amount of connectors. 6 gray ones as well as 1 white one on the harness. In the car there are 3 gray connectors and one white one. So the colors are the same, however the size of the connectors are different. The harness that came with the 7mgte...
In the car there are gray and a couple white ones... On the harness they are gray as well but a little more bulky (if that makes sense) my car is a 92' n/a and the harness that came withthe engine i bought is most likely an 88-89 as well as the ecu i bought (that was told it was 90-92') because...
haha, seriously. was talking about a wire harness issue and then bam "egr this and that" really am confused, but am on the lookout for a jdm 90-92 m/t ecu if anybody knows...
Anyways, logical reasoning made me realize I need to review the tewd for both 88-89 and 89+-92... This engine swap is going to turn into a huge rewire project.... :icon_mad:
So maybe a new tech post will come out of it so some other person won't have to do this, unless any of you know how to...
haha yeah when i saw it i was like wtf?... i'm sure once i start her up it will be cool... and i agree internet shows no emotion haha, didnt mean to show anger i pissed-off-ness in any way... another prime example of this medium :P
well whatever help would be nice instead of pointless bickering. people who remove egr with stock ecu just make engine risk of detonation since it runs hotter which = bhg... may work for select people but removing egr is not a very smart idea [most newer owners are under the assumption it gains...
how is jdm better? they are the exact same internals minus the egr. slap an egr on :::ta di f-in' da:::! you have a usdm one... plus neither throttle body is better at all a jdm one is for a rhd and it's a pain to use a lhd cable with. had to mcgyver it all badass
I'm sure that the clutch start switch doesn't help any but it's not even getting any power, however the only plugs that are plugged in are the 3 to the ecu... and for that guy that said use the usdm one, since it was a 92 and the engine for an 88-89 the plugs are not the same.... I have to...
I just finished installing a jdm engine. Installation went fine, blah, except the harness that came with it is pretty weird... I cannot find the m/t clutch switch... That's really not the problem... The problem is i bought an ecu (supposedly a jdm as well) but for a/t tranny (not a problem as...
^^^ HAHAHAHA!!!:biglaugh: thats so true.... I am going to have to drive without a downpipe or exhaust because me being an idiot during my swap wasted my money without thinking of an exhaust....:nono:
