psycotic: there are a couple people I know of that have raised the compression ratio without using custom pistons with success. I will wait until my machine shop takes some deck height measurements and vale clearance and see what can be done reasonably before I make a decision. I understand it...
The block empty. pistons looked good and score-free aswell, just some discolouring from general blow-by, but other than that...should be a cheap machine shop bill!
crank journals look perfect
crank out of the block
Everything is packaged and ready to head to the machine shop! within the...
Hey guys, I thought it was time for me to post up one of these threads to help compile thoughts and get some suggestions and advice. For those that don't know me well, I'm a 19 year old originally from Minden, Ontario, attending university in Oshawa at the university of Ontario Institute of...
I used prestone super flush from the autoparts store. put it in with clean water (after rad has flushed) and follow the directions, let it run for a few minutes and drain. I filled it up and ran it with straight water and drained (repeated several times) afterwards to make sure it was all gone...
what was the final word on the wiring situation? did that write up for a supra help you out at all?
I need to collect the connectors for my swap now and have found a 7m cressida in a junkyard. will the connectors from under the dash (the three listed in the write up) from a cressida work for my...
Micky,
what kind of oil filter are you using?
A low quality filter such as a fram have low quality drain-back valves and will not hold oil pressures. Essentially every start up will be a dry start up.
try switching to a quality filter such as toyota, K&N, mobil 1, wix etc. stay away...
i've never done anything as major as rewiring an engine, bit I have installed an alarm and a few other things myself. I can say that tracing the wires and getting the "big picture" of what has to be done is at least 90% of the battle. once you have it all laid out on a sheet of paper that says...
Here's a write up a member made on celicasupra.com. It's for a 87 engine in an 84 supra but i'd imagine the wiring isn't drastically different between yours and my car.

stay with it micky, you are much closer than you think. You've come this far, finish it! imagine the feeling of accomplishment when you get this all done.

catback, I did not mean to discourage you...to each their own.
I think carbon fibre looks pretty cool myself and I'm all for making things look good...I love polishing. I'm one for function too though...It just seems like a lot of work to make it look like your car is light (at least that's...
If people didn't buy the knock-offs, they wouldn't be made.
I'd find it extremley frustrating if my company had to constantly redesign a product that engineers worked hard to design just so it couldn't be copied.
super mods too haha. I'm not exactly sure what I talked about last night so I'm just going over everything right now. good times. nothing but love for everybody!
