That sounds right. But....if you are going to a shop to get it serviced, they will know how much your system requires. If they can't tell you before the job starts, move on to another shop.
We have a book that tells us how much EVERY vehicle uses.
The VTV is a Variable Throttle Valve (my interpretation). It is on the dashpot, which, when you let off the gas peddle, it keeps the throttle open for about 1 second. It helps with emmisions. If the whole dahpot system is removed, you won't notice a thing.

Canister?? I didn't find one thru net searches.
When ever we need one at the shop, we go thru the dealer.
The ECU temp sensor, or circuit, could have a problem.
You can simply unplug the wire to the cold start injector. This will disable it. Perhaps it is getting current when its not supposed to.
An 02 sensor has alot to do with fuel mixture. It may be operating, but not very well. You are...
The EGR valve won't work if the 'transducer' (back pressure sensor) is not working properly. Toyota EGR valves are pretty sturdy, but the transducer is what fails. Replaced several this year (down at the shop).
Change the cap every year, it only costs $6.
Run a 180* thermostat.
Fan clutch must work properly. Or go with high volume electric fan (s).
Electric water pump is expensive, and not worth it unless you have $$$ to burn.
On our cars, don't use washers to raise the hood. Just remove the...
All above is basically correct. But, the exhaust gasses are routed through the intake manifold to feed 'all' the cylinders. Its purpose is to lower the peak combustion temp to lower the formation of NOx.
I leave mine on because it works properly, and by lowering the combustion temp, it...
The cold start system is just that, a 'starting system'. Once the engine is running, it is off.
The ECU temp sensor is used by the ECU to help control fuel injection. If this sensor is inop, or out of range, the ECU may think your engine is already warm, and cut down the amount of fuel...
I always fill my tank, and I always use the trip OD to check milage. Over the years, this has saved me some $$$ because I caught some 'misfiring' problems early.:icon_razz
Before the mods, I was getting 17 city / 24 hwy. Now 15 city / 22 hwy. I figure its because I like the extra power...
Ok, ok, I calmed down and erased my first responce !! So....
I think he's talking about an exhaust gasket leak, which will not be enough to cause the responce you provided to become reality.
Now for some areas to check. Like said above...02 sensor.
Also, check all vacuum lines, intake...
I've been with State Farm from the beginning, many years. All my stuff is through them. Life, cars, house, boat, etc. Good discounts with SF.
Geico was gonna be double $$ for me to switch.
Points of interest....
Each state has its own seperate 'State Farm Co." So when you move to...
I've actually never had a problem with a cold start injector on Toyotas, other than a little dirty. I have had to replace several 'temp/time' switches.
They made some changes in them within the first couple years. All of them, trucks, too. They changed the resistance values to get better...
Usually heavy leaking at the front seal (the kind you have to keep adding fluid).
Whining sound, and moaning or whining when you turn the wheel back and forth.
